Su'er Village

Su'er village was originally named Lichi village, because Su Dongpo, a great literary hero of the Northern Song Dynasty, stepped into Lichi village twice, so he renamed it su'er village.

The ancient residential buildings in su'er village are one of the best preserved ancient buildings in western Guangdong. There are more than 40 ancient residential buildings in the village with different styles and characteristics. All the streets and lanes are paved with bluestone, and the buildings are mainly of stone brick structure. The village space changes with charm. A vertical main road and a number of horizontal lanes and streets are the main skeleton, forming a village street system which is mainly oriented to the East and extends to the north and south. There are also various kinds of floating sculptures with vivid images and exquisite workmanship.

The representative building in the middle of the ancient people is a "barrage house" with more than 50 rooms, in which well preserved gun holes and muzzles are magnificent. The ancient walls on the roof are winding, with as many as 100 entrances. Its ingenious design, exquisite construction, and elegant layout can be regarded as unique.

Su'er village is close to Huguangyan scenic spot, adjacent to liuniutan of guantian reservoir, and Guangdong Hainan railway shuttles by the village, so the transportation is very convenient.

Su'er Village

Su'er village was originally named Lichi village. Su Dongpo, a great literary hero in the Northern Song Dynasty, changed the name of Lichi village to su'er village, which means "Su Dongpo enters Lichi village two times". Su'er village, Jianxin Town, Suixi County, is located 33 kilometers southeast of Suicheng, close to Huguangyan scenic spot, adjacent to liuniutan of guantian reservoir, and Guangdong Hainan railway shuttles by the village. Su'er village is a special cultural village in Suixi County. Now it is declared as a special cultural village in Zhanjiang City.

Construction and development

Under the guidance of the spirit of creating ecological civilization demonstration village and building a new socialist countryside, the villagers in our village are determined and enthusiastic. On the basis of the original, we are going to build two more hard bottomed roads around the village, and make all the roadways in the village hard bottomed. Origin of village name

Su'er village, formerly known as litchi village, has many litchi trees. Su Dongpo, a great writer of the Northern Song Dynasty, likes to eat lychees very much. He has a good saying that "if you eat 300 lychees a day, you will never quit being a Lingnan.". When he was demoted to Hainan from Huizhou and passed through the South and North fortress of Suixi, "thirty mile official road", he went into Lichi village with admiration. Unfortunately, the mature season of Lichi is over. The elder of the village told him to "taste the good fruit of litchi until next May".

Later, Mr. Su Dongpo returned to the north when he was pardoned. It was May when he passed Suixi. At this time, the village elders brought out the most beautiful lychee King - "double bags" to entertain him. Finally, he got what he wanted. In order to commemorate Su Dongpo's two visits to Lizhi village, the villagers changed the name of LiZhi village to su er village, which means "Su Dongpo's two visits to Lizhi village".

Another story says that when Su Dongpo was demoted from Huizhou to Hainan, he went to Lizhi village to ask for directions when passing through the "thirty mile official road" in the north and South fortress of Suixi. The village aunt of LiZhi village didn't give directions for Su Dongpo, and he also made problems for Su Dongpo. Later, the village girl knew that this person was Su Dongpo. In order to commemorate Su Dongpo's visit to this place, she named Su Dongpo as the second eldest, namely "su er village". In fact, it's more reliable.

History and culture

The story of the number one scholar worshiping the pig trough

In su'er village, there is also a historical story of "the number one scholar worships the pig trough". In the Qing Dynasty, Huang Zhongrun and Lin Zhaotang were brothers. When Lin visited the Huang family for the first time, as soon as he arrived at the door of the Huang family, he saw an old woman who was feeding pigs. Through introduction, he knew that it was Huang Zhongrun's mother. Lin quickly knelt down to pay homage. At this time, Huang Zhongrun's mother rushed back to the house to wash her hands and change her new clothes, and then came out to help Lin Zhaotang. Before, Lin Zhaotang had been kneeling beside the pig trough. Since then, the story of "the number one scholar worships the pig trough", which embodies Lin Zhaotang's incomparable filial piety, has spread. Stone pig trough is still preserved today, educating generations of filial piety to parents and the elderly.

Ancient dwellings in su'er Village

The ancient residential complex in su'er village is one of the best preserved ancient buildings in western Guangdong. There are more than 40 ancient dwellings of Ming and Qing Dynasties in the village. In the east of the village, a stream flows from north to south. The main framework of the village is a longitudinal main road and a number of horizontal streets, which constitute a village street system with the East as the main direction and the North-South extension. All the streets and alleys are paved with bluestone. The stone brick structure of ancient buildings is the main. The wood, stone and brick carvings are rich and colorful. A thousand year old well

There is a thousand year old well in the center of su'er village, which is the drinking well of all the villagers. It is the clear well water that has nurtured generations of villagers. It is said that in order to solve the draught problem, the ancestors of su'er village decided to dig a well in the center of the village.

When digging a well, it took nine oxen and two tigers to reach the well water. When the excavation reached a depth of more than ten meters, it was blocked by the rock, so it was difficult to continue to dig. But in the face of difficulties, the ancestors were not angry and tried every means to break the rock. After the rock layer was broken, the well water splashed out, overflowed the wellhead and filled all the tunnels in the village, which made the villagers' life very inconvenient. Later, it was suggested that a rock should be put down to suppress the water, and it worked. From then on, regardless of spring, summer, autumn and winter, su'er villagers drank sweet well water.

The historical footprints of generations of ancestors and grandchildren have been deeply engraved around the wellhead. Deeply remember their indomitable courage and the spirit of not afraid of fatigue.
