Zhongshan, China Radio Museum
Zhongshan China Radio Museum, located at 197 sunwenzhong Road, Shiqi District, Zhongshan City, opened to the public on May 18, 2005 and January 17, 2006.
Development history
China Radio Museum of Zhongshan is the first special radio Museum in China, which belongs to Zhongshan Museum and is one of its branches.
Zhongshan China Radio Museum was built in 1921 as the vice building of Zhongshan public hospital. In the late 1950s, it was transformed into the public medical outpatient department of the people's Hospital, and then into the office building of Zhongshan County Party committee. In 1997, it was transferred to Zhongshan Museum by Zhongshan City Management and Supervision Brigade. At the end of 2003, Zhongshan municipal government funded the maintenance of the auxiliary building. After a year and a half of construction, it was finally transformed into the present Zhongshan China Radio Museum.
The auxiliary building of Qiaoli Zhongshan public hospital, with a convex shape, covers an area of about 200 square meters and a construction area of 385 square meters. It was originally located in the north to the south, just opposite to the main building next door. Later, due to the construction of Shiqi Road (now Sunwen Road), its main entrance was opened to the north side of the street.
Architectural structure
The main building is divided into two floors with an exhibition area of more than 330 square meters. The outer walls of the buildings are built with green bricks, which complement the surrounding green trees. The shutters inlaid on the outer walls have a strong German architectural style. There are two Ionian style pillars on both sides of the original main door, with flowers, cirrus and other decorations on the capitals. There are two square pillars on the outside to support the balcony on the second floor. On the square pillars, there is a couplet engraved on the sun: "chonglan is more and more harmonious, old bamboo is the first, and the breeze can drag.". The ceiling of the balcony and exhibition hall of Zhongshan China Radio Museum has been reconstructed, leaving gray sculptures such as colorful flowers and geometric patterns.
The exhibition takes the spatial development of history as the display clue, and shows the development history of China's radio industry through the display techniques of objects, pictures, scenes and multimedia. From one side, it reflects the historical changes of China's society, politics, economy and other aspects, as well as the development process of the emerging cultural communication industry with the background of the radio industry in China. The exhibition hall of the museum is divided into two exhibition areas: the first floor is the exhibition area of radio in China before liberation, the second floor is the exhibition area of radio in China after liberation, and the buffer area at the entrance of the first floor is the preface hall. The main exhibition areas display representative radios against the historical background, and state the historical background of radios in that period.
