Changshu Institute of Technology

Changshu Institute of technology is located in Changshu, a famous national historical and cultural city and an international garden city. Its predecessor is Suzhou normal college founded in 1958 and Changshu Vocational University founded in 1984. In 1989, with the approval of the former State Education Commission and Jiangsu Provincial People's government, the two colleges merged into Changshu college. In 2001, Jiangsu population school was merged. On May 12, 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Changshu Institute of technology was established on the basis of Changshu college. The university is a provincial undergraduate college with the characteristics of science and engineering, applied technology and teacher education.

The school has 6 colleges and 5 departments (College of humanities, College of foreign languages, College of art, College of biology and food engineering, College of computer science and engineering, College of physics and electronic engineering, Department of mathematics, Department of chemistry and materials engineering, Department of mechanical engineering, Department of automation, Department of Management Engineering), Yushan college, a private secondary college, with 37 undergraduate majors and full-time schooling There are more than 12000 students and more than 4500 students in the Institute of continuing education. At present, the university has one national characteristic specialty construction point, one provincial excellent discipline echelon, one provincial excellent teaching team, one provincial experimental base for talent cultivation mode innovation of higher education, one provincial engineering center and one provincial key construction laboratory, four provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, six provincial brand and characteristic specialty construction points, and one provincial key construction discipline There are 2 key construction disciplines and 8 key support disciplines.

The school has more than 1000 staff, including more than 260 with senior titles, more than 600 full-time teachers and more than 430 doctors and masters. The university has initially formed a number of discipline echelons and scientific research teams with certain influence in the province, and achieved a number of scientific research achievements. In the past five years, nearly 3000 papers have been published, including nearly 700 papers published in core and above journals, more than 200 papers searched by SCI, EI and ISTP, and nearly 100 monographs published. At present, more than 140 scientific research projects are sponsored by teachers of our university, including National Natural Science Foundation of China, national philosophy and Social Science Foundation of China, national "863" special program, Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial agricultural high-tech projects, etc., and nearly 40 horizontal projects have been undertaken.

The school has a land area of more than 870000 square meters, a building area of more than 400000 square meters, and a total asset value of more than 100 million yuan of teaching equipment. The library has a collection of more than 1 million paper books, nearly 3 million e-books, 3282 Chinese and foreign newspapers, and more than 50000 e-journals.

The school takes the motto of "seeking truth from the foundation, striving for the future" as its motto, adheres to the teaching as the center, pays attention to the basic construction of teaching, reforms the personnel training mode, improves the teaching quality assurance system, and actively promotes the teaching research. Since its promotion, it has won 1 educational reform project approved by the Ministry of education, 12 educational reform projects approved by the Provincial Department of education and the provincial education planning office, and 5 first and second prizes of provincial teaching achievements. The school has always attached great importance to the construction of school spirit and study style, attached importance to the quality education of students, and standardized the education management. It has been listed as the standard unit of school spirit construction in Colleges and universities. Since 1997, it has been rated as "civilized school of Jiangsu Province" for ten consecutive years.

The school adheres to serving the local, and develops interactively with the regional economy and social undertakings. At the same time, the University attaches importance to and actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation to accelerate the internationalization. Since the reform and opening up, experts and scholars have been sent to the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Israel, India and other countries for exchange or further study, and nearly 100 foreign teachers have been employed. It also cooperates with Winchester School of art, University of Southampton, UK to implement "2 + 2" talent training, and cooperates with NIIT company of India to implement "school enterprise cooperation" talent training. He also joined the "1 + 2 + 1 Sino US talent training program" and signed agreements with six American Universities on cooperation in running schools.
