Gansu University of traditional Chinese medicine is a provincial undergraduate college with higher education enrollment qualification approved by the Ministry of education. Its predecessor, Gansu University of traditional Chinese medicine, was established in 1978 with the approval of the State Council. In April 2015, Gansu University of traditional Chinese medicine was renamed Gansu University of traditional Chinese medicine with the approval of the Ministry of education. The university has the right to confer doctor's, master's and bachelor's degrees, and has the qualification to recommend excellent fresh undergraduate graduates to study for master's degree without examination and to train international students. It is the working unit for conferring master's degree to personnel with the same academic level and the training unit for University teachers to study for master's degree in service.

The school offers traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and massage, clinical medicine of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, Chinese medicine, pharmaceutical preparations, cultivation and identification of Chinese herbal medicine, pharmacy, resources and development of traditional Chinese medicine, clinical medicine, medical imaging, preventive medicine, nursing, medical testing technology, rehabilitation therapy, medical information engineering, public utilities management, international economy and trade, Tibetan medicine, Tibetan medicine and application There are 22 undergraduate majors in psychology, applied chemistry and sports rehabilitation. Acupuncture and massage, medical imaging technology, medical inspection technology, nursing, elderly service and management, drug production technology, drug business and management. Among them, the cultivation and identification of Chinese herbal medicine and clinical medicine of traditional Chinese and Western medicine were established in China. Chinese herbal medicine cultivation and identification, clinical medicine of Chinese and Western medicine, acupuncture and massage are the characteristic specialty construction points of national colleges and universities, while traditional Chinese medicine, pharmaceutical preparation, Chinese medicine and nursing are the characteristic specialty construction points of provincial colleges and universities. The university has been recruiting postgraduates since 1992, and now has three first-class doctoral degree authorization points of TCM, TCM and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and a post doctoral research station of TCM; There are four first-class disciplines authorized for master's degree in traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine and clinical medicine, and five master's degree training qualifications in clinical medicine, public health, nursing, traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine, covering all second-class disciplines under the first-class disciplines of traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine and clinical medicine.

At present, the university has more than 10000 students, including 667 master's and doctoral students and 9200 ordinary undergraduates. The students come from 15 provinces (cities and districts) in China, and there are all kinds of overseas students studying in school.

Our school adheres to the principle of open education and is committed to promoting international exchanges and cooperation in the research and management of students and teachers. It has established close and friendly cooperation with universities and scientific research institutions in more than 20 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Ukraine, Moldova and South Africa. Focusing on strengthening cooperation and exchanges with countries along the "Silk Road Economic Belt", our university has established "Qihuang College of traditional Chinese medicine" in Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, France, Hungary and other countries, undertaken the second phase technical cooperation project of Moldova traditional Chinese Medicine Center assisted by the Ministry of Commerce, and was approved by the Ministry of science and technology of the people's Republic of China as the "model of international scientific and technological cooperation in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases with traditional Chinese medicine" "Base". The university has signed international cooperation agreements with foreign universities such as Chengxin women's University of Korea, Pusan university of Korea, bakamolitz National Medical University of Ukraine, University of South Florida of the United States, etc.
