Huzhou Teachers College

Huzhou Normal University is a full-time regular undergraduate university, which is "jointly built by provinces and cities, mainly by cities". The school's history can be traced back to the third county normal school of Qiantang road in 1916. It started higher education in 1958 and began to recruit undergraduates in 1994. In March 1999, with the approval of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, the former Huzhou Teachers' College, Huzhou Teachers' College and Huzhou Teachers' training college were merged to establish Huzhou Teachers' college. In May 2000, Huzhou health school was merged into Huzhou Normal University. In November 2005, the University passed the undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of education with "good" results, realizing a leap forward development. The motto of the school is "being clear and practical". It is a civilized unit in Zhejiang Province.

School location: Huzhou Normal University is located in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, with a long history, clear landscape and convenient transportation. Huzhou is adjacent to Shanghai in the East, Hangzhou in the south, Nanjing in the north, and Suzhou and Wuxi across from Taihu Lake. It is the only city around Taihu Lake that gets its name because of the lake. It is an important open city in the Yangtze River Delta, with obvious geographical advantages.

School scale: the school now covers an area of 1665 mu, with a total area of 380000 square meters and a green area of 220000 square meters. The school has three campuses, East, middle and West, with beautiful environment, reasonable layout and pleasant scenery in four seasons. At present, the university has 10 subordinate colleges, such as school of law and business, School of educational science and technology, School of physical education, School of humanities, School of foreign languages, School of art, School of science, School of information engineering, School of life sciences, School of medicine, etc., and a comprehensive full-time undergraduate independent college, Qiuzhen college, approved by the Ministry of education. The school has 13860 full-time undergraduate and junior college students, 4000 adult correspondence students and 1200 teaching staff.

Faculty: 720 full-time teachers, 100 with senior titles, 220 with deputy senior titles, 430 with doctorates and masters. In recent years, 5 people have won the State Council Government's special allowance, 9 people have won the national Zeng Xianzi Education Fund Award, among which one is the first prize; 28 people have won the provincial 151 talent project and the provincial young and middle-aged discipline leaders; 33 people have won provincial advanced individuals, including 3 national excellent teachers, 1 National 100 excellent teachers of two courses, and excellent teachers of Zhejiang Province.

Disciplines: the university has a complete range of disciplines, covering 10 university disciplines such as literature, science, engineering, education and economics, with four provincial key disciplines of basic mathematics, literature and art, theoretical physics, educational economy and management. At present, there are 42 undergraduate majors, including 3 provincial key majors of mathematics and applied mathematics, Chinese language and literature and primary education, 3 provincial key construction majors of physics, computer science and technology and musicology, and 14 provincial excellent courses of ancient literature. In recent years, there are plenty of students and the employment rate of students is high. In 2007, the one-time employment rate of graduates reached 93.8%, ranking in the forefront of colleges and universities in the province.

Science and technology work: in the past three years, the university has made fruitful scientific research achievements, undertaking 85 projects above provincial and ministerial level, including 8 national projects; published more than 40 monographs and more than 3000 papers, including more than 200 papers published in national first-class journals and international authoritative journals and included in SCI; and obtained more than 100 awards at municipal department level and above. Professor Gu Mingyuan, President of China Society of education and doctoral supervisor of Beijing Normal University, was appointed as the chief consultant and part-time professor of the academic committee of the University.

Instruments and equipment: the comprehensive school running conditions are excellent, and the basic facilities are complete. It has more than 10 advanced teaching and research facilities, including a provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, a school level liberal arts practical teaching center, a physics experimental teaching center, a medical and life science experimental center, and a network and educational technology experimental center. There are 16 university level research institutes, including cell engineering research institute, Theoretical Physics Research Institute and Applied Electronic Technology Research Institute. The total value of the existing teaching equipment is 80 million yuan. The library has a total construction area of more than 28000 square meters, a total collection of more than 1 million books and more than 2000 domestic and foreign periodicals.

International Exchange: the University actively carries out international educational exchange and cooperation, and has established friendly cooperation relations with universities in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions, carrying out a wide range of academic exchange activities and scientific research cooperation, such as inter school visits, student exchanges, teacher training, expert lectures, etc. At present, the university has carried out education for international students and recruited students from the United States, Canada, Russia, Brazil and Indonesia to study Chinese and traditional Chinese medicine.
