City College of Zhejiang University was established in July 1999 with the approval of the Ministry of education and Zhejiang Provincial People's government. It is a full-time undergraduate college jointly run by Zhejiang University and Hangzhou Municipal People's government, and co sponsored by Zhejiang telecom industry group. The current president is Professor Wu Jian, doctoral supervisor of Zhejiang University, and the current Secretary of the Party committee is Professor Hu Lixiang, member of the Party committee of Zhejiang University.

The college is located in Gongshu District of Hangzhou City, covering an area of more than 1000 mu and covering an area of more than 400000 square meters. The campus environment is elegant, the basic facilities are advanced, and the school conditions are complete.

Relying on the comprehensive advantages of Zhejiang University, the college sets up majors according to the development trend of modern science and technology and the needs of local economic and social development. There are 9 colleges, including school of computer and computing science, School of information and electrical engineering, School of medicine and Life Sciences, School of engineering, School of foreign languages, School of business, School of media and humanities, School of law and School of creativity and art design, with 35 undergraduate majors and more than 70 professional directions. At present, there are more than 12000 full-time undergraduate students.
