1、 School running conditions

The college is located in Dabanqiao Town, Guandu District, Kunming City, covering an area of 347 mu, adjacent to the planned new Kunming International Airport. The total building area of the College (including one branch) is 44994 square meters, the average student area is 107 square meters, the teaching and administrative room area is 19647 square meters, and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 7.9 million yuan. The Library covers an area of 2147 square meters, with a collection of 321400 books, including 190000 e-books. The college has a modern sports ground, police shooting training ground, driving training ground, a training center covering 13 modern professional laboratories in 4 categories, and 20 teaching and scientific research practice bases in the province, meeting the needs of teaching and scientific research.

2、 Teaching staff

At present, the college has 200 staff and 136 teachers, including 35 associate professors, accounting for 26% of the total number of teachers; 52 lecturers; 39 teachers with master's degree, accounting for 29% of the total number of teachers; 38 teachers aged 35-45, accounting for 28% of the total number of Teachers; 69 young teachers under 35, accounting for 51% of the total number of teachers. Basically, it has formed a contingent of teachers with excellent quality, proficient in business, reasonable structure and able to meet the needs of ordinary higher police education.

3、 Specialty construction

At present, the college offers six Majors: criminal execution, administrative execution, investigation, legal affairs, criminal psychological measurement and correction technology, and correction of drug-related personnel. In 2009, it applied for three majors of Thai, Burmese and security technology, and added the direction of community correction in the major of legal affairs.

4、 Personnel training

As a higher Police College in the judicial administration system of the whole province, the college has been focusing on meeting the needs of judicial administration work, especially prison reeducation through labor work, and has established the training goal of being based on the industry, facing politics and law, and serving the society. It mainly cultivates "stressing politics, general law, refining specialty, high skills, contributing justice, and serving the society" for the judicial administration system, especially prison reeducation through labor units To provide talent guarantee and intellectual support for promoting Yunnan's rule of law and economic and social development. Over the past 29 years, the college has trained 13732 graduates and 19836 on-the-job policemen for Yunnan prison reeducation through labor institutions and public security prison management departments. In 2009, the college conducted a follow-up survey on 3675 graduates. The results showed that there were 13 prison directors, directors and political commissars, 71 leaders above deputy office level and 403 students above department level; 987 students above provincial bureau level were commended, including 1 first-class meritorious service, 17 second-class meritorious service and 156 third-class meritorious service.
