Guangdong Vocational College of science and trade is a public institution of higher learning approved by the people's Government of Guangdong Province, registered by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, and directly under the Department of education of Guangdong Province. It was founded in 1985, formerly known as the cradle of Guangdong Agricultural Science and technology and management cadres. At the end of 2011, it passed the talent training assessment of Higher Vocational Colleges of Guangdong Provincial Department of education. In November 2013, it was identified as the third batch of construction units of Guangdong Provincial Model Higher Vocational Colleges by Guangdong Provincial Department of education and Guangdong Provincial Department of finance.

At present, the college has Guangzhou baiyunshijing campus, Tianhe Wushan campus and Tianhe Fenghuang campus, with 8385 full-time vocational students; There are 9 departments and departments, including Department of environmental art, Department of biotechnology, Department of animal science and technology, Department of economic management, Department of Commerce and trade, Department of Humanities and foreign languages, Department of information engineering, Ministry of Ideological and political education and Ministry of continuing education, with 37 specialties.
