Zhejiang Police Vocational College is a judicial higher vocational college, which mainly cultivates prison reeducation through labor police, grassroots judicial workers, security technology, judicial information technology and other professionals. The competent departments are Zhejiang Department of justice, Zhejiang Provincial Department of education and Zhejiang provincial prison administration. Its predecessor was the third people's Police School of Zhejiang Province established in 1984. In May 2000, Zhejiang Provincial People's Government approved the establishment of Zhejiang judicial police vocational college. In January 2002, Zhejiang Provincial People's Government approved the formal establishment of Zhejiang Police Vocational College, which is divided into Xiasha and Huawu. It is an advanced unit of Vocational Education in Zhejiang Province and a model higher vocational college in Zhejiang Province. It is a national pilot and promotion unit of higher legal vocational education reform, a national pilot unit of recruitment and training system reform of political and legal colleges, and a national model higher vocational college construction plan.

In the process of running the school, the college adheres to the guiding ideology of building the school by politics, establishing the school by police, managing the school by law, strengthening the school by talents, prospering the school by quality, and promoting the school by harmony. It also adheres to the combination of academic education and on-the-job training, and explores a new development path with the characteristics of China's higher legal vocational education with the key of improving students' professional quality and ability and the integration of professional teaching and industry service We should vigorously promote the reform of education and teaching mode with the combination of work and study, strengthening skills in actual combat and casting police spirit as the core content. The college covers an area of 417 mu, with a building area of 167500 square meters. It has more than 4000 full-time students and 474 teaching staff, including 216 full-time teachers and 37.67% of full-time teachers (including 17 full-time professors), 51.57% of the total number of teachers have master's degree or above, 72.5% of professional teachers have "double qualification", 96 part-time teachers from industries and enterprises, and 5 of them have been selected as the third echelon of "151 talent project of Zhejiang Province". The college also undertakes the training tasks of the Ministry of justice, the Supreme People's court, China Security Products Industry Association, Zhejiang prison reeducation through labor system and other on-the-job personnel, with an annual training number of more than 10000 people. Today, the college has become a training base for prison reeducation through labor police in Zhejiang Province, a training base for judicial police in national courts, a training base for security professionals in Zhejiang Province, and a teacher training center of China Security Association. The college actively makes unremitting efforts to build "safe Zhejiang" and "rule of law Zhejiang" and build a harmonious society, making greater contributions to the development of Higher Vocational Education in China.
