The school of information engineering of Fuyang Normal University is an independent college of undergraduate level approved by Anhui provincial government in 2003 and confirmed by the Ministry of education in 2004. The college is located in the Qinghe campus of Fuyang Normal University, where the xiqinghe river runs through, with willows drooping, pine and fir trees, flowers and birds singing, and pleasant environment. The college has five departments of information science, Chinese, foreign language, economic management and art, with a total of 13 majors. It has enrolled 4588 students in seven provinces, including Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Hubei, Jiangxi, Henan and Anhui.

The college covers an area of 420 mu, 100000 square meters of teaching and living rooms, and 700000 books of all kinds. The college has constantly updated teaching facilities, improved teaching conditions, and gradually established the domestic first-class computer room, voice room and various kinds of laboratories. The college vigorously strengthens the construction of teaching staff, actively introduces teachers with high professional titles and academic qualifications, and makes full use of the excellent teaching staff of Fuyang Normal University to form a full-time and part-time teaching staff with rich theoretical knowledge, high-level professional skills, strong academic strength and rich teaching experience. At present, there are 327 full-time and part-time teachers, including 117 with senior professional titles, and more than 80% of full-time teachers with master's degree or above. High quality teachers provide strong support and guarantee for teaching.

In the 2007-2008 academic year, five students were awarded national scholarships, 103 national inspirational scholarships and 767 national grants. In January 2009, Xie Tian, a student of Chinese Department, was awarded the honorary title of "star of self-improvement of Chinese college students" jointly by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the all China Federation of students. At the same time, he was awarded the "New Oriental scholarship for self-improvement of Chinese College students" provided by New Oriental Education and technology group. A total of 52 graduates in 2009 have been admitted to master's degree.
