[plant morphology] Robinia pseudoacacia
Deciduous trees, 4-16m high. The bark is grayish brown, the young branches are grayish green, and the biennial branches are purple brown, glabrous, with small lenticels. The upper leaves are gradually larger, ovate elliptic or oblong; the apical leaves are obovate elliptic, 10 cm long and 4-5 cm wide, smooth on the top and sparsely brown pilose along the main veins on the bottom. Panicles lax, terminal or axillary; pedicels brown pubescent. Flowers ca. 20 mm long, white; calyx campanulate, apex 5-lobed, calyx teeth triangular; petals several equal, petals suborbicular, apex slightly concave; stamens 10, subdetached; ovary linear, shortly stipitate, densely sericeous. Pods flat, 4.5 cm long, ca. 12 mm wide, densely pubescent. The flowering period is from June to July. The fruit period is from September to October.
It grows in the mixed forest on the hillside. It is distributed in Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou and other places.
