Herbs perennial, decumbent, ca. 50 cm tall. The root is conic and fleshy. Stem hollow, with swollen nodes, pubescent and capitate glandular hairs. Leaves to small, sessile, elliptic or elliptic ovate, 4-5 cm long and 2-3 cm wide, apex acute, base cuneate, margin undulate, two faces milky and pubescent, dichotomous cyme, terminal; calyx tube green, densely covered with glandular hairs, apex 5-lobed; petals 5, pale red, spatulate oblanceolate, throat with corona, scales 2-lobed; stamens 10, filaments exposed, flowers 2-lobed Anthers white, T-shaped; ovary superior, style 3, meristematic. Capsule conic, 1-locular. Seeds reniform, brown.
It is found in the wild and limestone areas. It is distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan and Guizhou.
[collection] harvest in autumn. Remove fibrous roots, wash and dry.
[medicinal material] the dry root is conical, up to 40 cm long and often twisted. The appearance is yellow and white, with longitudinal wrinkles and horizontal holes. It is brittle and easy to break. The cross section is waxy, the vascular bundle is not obvious, yellow and sparse radial arrangement. No breath, no taste.
It is produced in Yunnan.
It's hard, cool and poisonous.
