[plant morphology] Nanjing Tilia, also known as Tilia micrantha and Tilia amurensis.
Deciduous trees, up to 15 m high. Buds and young branches densely covered with gray stellate hairs. Leaves alternate, ovate to triangular ovate. It is 6-8 cm long, longer than width, apex short pointed or acuminate, base obliquely heart-shaped, margin coarsely serrate, with small tip, dark green above, nearly smooth glabrous, densely covered with gray white stellate hairs below, vein axils without tufts; petiole 2-4 cm long, densely felted. Inflorescence: cyme, 10-12 flowers; bracts in axils, slender spoon shaped, abaxially densely covered with stellate tapetum; pedicels drawn from the center of bracts: sepals 5, covered with stellate tapetum; petals 5, apex pointed, yellowish brown, longer than stamens; stamens numerous, up to 60-75, staminode petal shaped; ovary covered with stellate tapetum. Nutlets globose, base pentagonal, surface small protuberant, covered with stellate felts. The flowering period is from June to July. The fruiting period is September.
Born on the hillside, gully and other wet places. Distributed in Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Sichuan and other places.
