[plant morphology] small perennial herbs, up to 20cm in height. Rhizome short, fleshy, erect, cylindrical, clustered yellow fleshy roots. The leaves are heterotypic and often solitary; the total petiole is extracted from the top of the rhizome, 5-15cm long, and the lower part is deeply buried in the soil; the sterile leaves are sharp or obtuse round from the base of the total petiole, the base is long cuneate, entire, sessile, slightly fleshy, with obvious fleshy veins. The weight of sporangia comes from the top of the stem, the length of stem is 6-17cm, the length of spike is 2.5-4cm, the width is 2-3mm, the tip of sporangia is small, the transverse split of sporangia is 2 petals when mature, and the spores are nearly smooth.
Born under the forest and in the mire. It is distributed in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Southwest China, Hubei, Shaanxi and Taiwan.

It is cool in nature and slightly sweet and sour in taste.
