[plant morphology] Ligularia nephrophylla
Perennial herbs, about 1 meter high. Rhizome short and thick, with many slender fibrous roots. Stem erect, longitudinally striated. The basal leaves are reniform, 10-20 cm long and 11-25 cm wide, with serrate margin, deep heart-shaped base and long petiole; the cauline leaves are small in shape, with enlarged petiole and embracing stem. The head is about 2 cm long, arranged in a raceme, with a bract of ovate dentate under the peduncle; the glossy flower is yellow. Achene slender, with long corolla. It blooms in summer.
It is found in the slightly humid part of hillside grassland. Distribution of northeast and Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan and other places.
[collection] in summer and autumn, they were dug and dried in the sun.
[herbal medicine] the dry roots are twisted into clumps, the rhizome is massive, there are residual fibers in the leaf base at the upper end, and most fine roots are clustered below.
