Annual herb, 60-90 cm high. Stem erect, tetragonal, base purplish, upper part much branched, whole plant pubescent, leaves opposite, pinnate deeply split, leaf lobes of stem base 5; leaf lobes of middle and upper part 3-5, linear or lanceolate, 1.5-2 cm long, 2-4 mm wide, entire, both sides pubescent: below with concave glandular points, spicate cymes, mostly dense at the end of branches, 3-8 cm long; bract leaves Calyx campanulate, ca. 3 mm long, 5 longitudinal veins, hairy, apex 5-toothed; corolla purplish, 2-lipped, ca. 4 mm long, upper lip 2-lobed, lower lip larger, 3-lobed; stamens 4, 2-strong; ovary 4-lobed, style basal, stigma 2-lobed. Nutlets 4, ovate or elliptic, ca. 1 mm, brown. The flowering period is from June to August. The fruit period is from July to September.
