Life of the characters
Professor Wang Chongde's extraordinary life has formed an indissoluble bond with the scientific and technological information circles. Mr. Wang's life can be summarized as a progressive stage of "information users, leaders of information institutions, and educators of information science". Professor Wang Suide was born in tiaonan City, Jilin Province on October 13, 1938. He graduated from the Department of chemical engineering of Dalian Institute of Technology (now Dalian University of Technology) in 1961. After graduation, he successively served as a technician of the second Design Institute of the Ministry of nuclear industry, director of the production section of Baicheng chemical plant, director of Baicheng Scientific Research Institute, director of Guilin science and Technology Information Research Institute, branch of Nankai University and Information Industry Department of Tianjin Normal University Department head, Professor, master supervisor. Due to the special experience of Professor Wang Suide, he gradually developed from an active intelligence user to a leader of intelligence agencies, and finally became a famous researcher and educator of information science. His unique experience must be reflected in his academic style, which in turn determines his academic contribution in creative activities. Professor Wang Suide is one of the earliest teachers and researchers engaged in the theory and method of science and Technology Information Science and information science metrology in China, and one of the early researchers of bibliometrics in China. He has undertaken and completed more than 10 scientific research projects assigned by all levels, including two projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and national philosophy and Social Science Foundation of China; published more than 10 monographs such as principles of information science, cooperated with others or participated in the preparation of 2 monographs; and published more than 200 academic papers. Among them, "citation analysis of China's Sci-tech Journals", "Application of bibliometrics in information research", "tortuous course of information science" and other three papers have won special and first prizes in the national solicitation. A total of nearly 5 million words of academic papers have been written. He has won the third prize of national science and technology progress, the second prize of excellent teaching achievement of State Education Commission, and the first prize of Tianjin excellent teaching achievement. Because of his outstanding contributions, his academic achievements have been included in some famous biographies of international celebrities, such as: the international who's how of intelligent S11 the d international leaders in achievement 3 rd menofachievement 7 the d in recent years, Professor Wang Chongde has especially strengthened exchanges with international peers. In 1995, he went to Chicago to participate in the 5th International Congress of science, inventory and information metrology. The title of his paper is "on study of ziph's law". In 1996, he was invited to attend the cross-strait Symposium on Information Science in the 21st century, and presided over worshop about "Bibliometrics" and "principles of information science" in many places. They also exchanged views with Taiwan scholars on the operation, significance, value and Prospect of cyberspace in information science. Professor Wang Chongde has also made great contributions to the education of Information Science in China. Professor Wang Suide has been engaged in the teaching of postgraduates and undergraduates for a long time. In the teaching, he pays attention to serving as a teacher, inspiring students with scientific research methods, guiding students with correct ideas, and inspiring students with personal examples. Under the influence of Wang Suide's personality charm and academic spirit, dozens of students have published academic papers and embarked on the academic road. "Learning from high school as a teacher and being upright as a model" is perfectly reflected in the professor. Since 1989, he has been the tutor of postgraduates, and has trained many backbone teachers for our university. The research of its information science teaching system has played a great role in promoting the information science teaching of our university and even the whole country. Professor Wang Suide has made outstanding achievements in teaching, scientific research, teaching and educating people, and has achieved good social benefits. He was granted the special contribution allowance by the State Council in 1992.
Academic achievements
Professor Wang Suide has a good reputation of "desperate Sanlang" in the field of Information Science in China. His academic papers have been selected by the national index of newspapers and periodicals, information science abstracts and other retrieval tools, ranking first in China's information industry. The academic circles have recognized Professor Wang's academic status and contribution as a pioneer. In his early years, Professor Wang, who was engaged in engineering design, petrochemical production and scientific research, started the road of scientific and technological information research in the 1970s, and formally engaged in the teaching of Information Science in 1985. The reason why Professor Wang has made such amazing academic achievements in a short time is inseparable from his pioneering spirit, extensive knowledge and profound thinking. Looking at Professor Wang's academic achievements, his pioneering research achievements are mainly reflected in the following aspects: (1) the pioneer and master of bibliometrics research in China in Information Science, Professor Wang Chongde is the core author in the field of bibliometrics. He embarked on the road of information science research by engaging in "citation analysis". "Citation analysis" is a method which uses graph theory, fuzzy teaching, mathematical statistics and other mathematical methods and logical thinking methods to analyze the phenomena and laws of citation and citation of scientific and technological documents, so as to reveal the characteristics of the research objects or the relationship between the objects they contain. The research of bibliometrics in China is based on "citation analysis". Although the citation analysis method has been deepened through the research of P. gross, T. brown, e. Grafield and Martin, the research of this method was almost a blank in China before the 1980s. In 1981, Professor Wang Chongde published the first work on citation analysis of Chinese scientific journals. This paper investigates the citations of Chinese Sci-tech Journals and obtains some valuable data. Because of its pioneering role and contribution, this paper has won the first excellent paper award in the field of Information Science in China. Since then, Professor Wang has done a lot of specific research on citation analysis, the selection of scientific journals and the exchange of scientific information. These studies constitute the classic literature of bibliometrics in China. Professor Wang Chongde's bibliometric research has always been at the forefront of academic research. Since then, Professor Wang's research focuses on the deepening of the basic laws of bibliometrics, such as Bradford's Law (Belford's law), Lotka's Law (Lotka's law), Zipf's Law (Zipf's law) and its internal mechanism, approximate calculation of skew distribution, 28's law, two-dimensional Bradford's law, evolution of bibliometrics, Pratt's laterality, verification of gigpd, and Ma's law The mathematical model of Tai effect, double cited clustering, the research of influencing factors and so on. These research results are reflected in his Monographs on bibliometrics, a course of bibliometrics (Nankai University Press, 1st edition, June 1990) and an introduction to Bibliometrics (Guangxi Normal University Press, 1st edition, June 1997). In particular, Professor Wang Chongde's new book introduction to Bibliometrics once again fills in the blank of domestic research in this field, which is known as the fruit of rational thinking in the field of bibliometrics in China. Readers of this book can easily find its obvious characteristics: the necessary logic between the contents, the novelty of the research contents, and the different scientific labor attitudes of the authors The research content is profound and practical. It is no wonder that once published, the book was highly praised and had a great influence in the academic circles. (2) it ends the history of the discussion on the methods of Library and Information Science in our country, and the main gap in the research quality of Library and Information Science in our country lies in some obvious problems in the methodology. Professor Wang Suide's information science research is based on citation analysis as a breakthrough, and then formed a library and information science methodology system with citation analysis and bibliography as a special method. He is the first person to study "methodology" deeply and systematically in the field of Library and information in China. He ended the history of the discussion of Library and information methods in China. His monograph methodology of Library and Information Science (Science and Technology Literature Press, first edition, February 1988) fills the gap of this research in China for many years. On the basis of emphasizing the generality of scientific research and the particularity of Library and information science research, Professor Wang Suide took the lead in scientifically dividing the methodology of Library and information science into three levels: general research method (social investigation method, rational thinking method, image thinking method, mathematical method and modern scientific method), and special research method (literature calculation method) Quantitative method, citation analysis method) and philosophical method. In particular, many of the examples in the book are the author's years of scientific research practice, which has a good effect of drawing inferences from one instance and produces very high social benefits. following the methodology of research specialty characteristics, Professor Wang Chongde turned the scientific research perspective to the common "social science research method". As one of the key projects of the Seventh Five Year Plan of philosophy and Social Sciences in Tianjin, essentials of social science research methods (Xuelin publishing house, May 1, 1990) broadens the scope of research
