Xia Wenyan
Xia Wenyan, a painter in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, was named Shiliang, Lanzhu and lanzhusheng. He is good at appreciation and rich in collection. He is known as "he has collected thousands of volumes of books, the ink of ancient celebrities, he is generous in buying money, and he is especially precious in the painting of literati".
Life of the characters
Xia Wenyan, whose ancestral home is Wuxing (now Huzhou, Zhejiang), moved to Huating County, Songjiang Prefecture (now Songjiang, Shanghai) from his great grandfather's generation. His great grandfather moved to Huating County, Songjiang Prefecture (now Songjiang, Shanghai). He once served as a captain of Zhongyi school and a magistrate of Yuyao state. In the early Ming Dynasty, in order to consolidate his rule in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Zhu Yuanzhang adopted the policy of attacking and weakening the landlords and gentry. Xia Wenyan was also forced to move to the rural areas of Huaixi until he died.
Character works
His works include the painting of xiuhuang lotus, etc. In 1365 and 1366, he was the author of five volumes and one volume of supplement to the treasure of painting.
