Jian Yong

Jian Yong (year of birth and death unknown), the word Xianhe. Zhuo county (now Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province) people. The original surname is Geng, but the people of Youzhou changed Geng into Jian. From the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Three Kingdoms period, Liu Bei was a counselor.

Jian Yong met Liu Bei when he was young, and then ran with him. When Liu Bei surrounded Chengdu, Jian Yong persuaded Liu Zhang to surrender. Before long, the official paid homage to general Zhaode, ranking second to mizhu.

Jian Yong is good at debating and deliberating. His temperament is simple, direct and informal. When he sat with Liu Bei, he also sat cross legged and ignored Wei Yi. When he gets along with other people except Zhuge Liang, he monopolizes a couch, talks in a prone position, and never gives in to others.

When Jian Yong was young, he was very friendly with Liu Bei and ran around with him.

In the sixth year of Jian'an (201), Liu Bei went to Jingzhou to take refuge with Liu Biao. Jian Yong, together with mizhu and sun Qian, served as Zuo general, Zhonglang and permanent lobbyist.

On Liu Zhang

In the 16th year of Jian'an (211), Liu Bei was invited to Yizhou, and Jian Yong's entourage also went with him. Liu Zhang met him and liked Jian Yong very much. A year later, the two sides broke up and the war broke out immediately.

In the 19th year of Jian'an (214), Liu Bei surrounded Liu Zhang in Chengdu. Jian Yong was sent to persuade Liu Zhang to surrender. Liu Zhang agreed and went out of the city with Jian Yong to surrender. After Liu Bei established Yizhou, he paid tribute to Jianyong as general Zhaode. His treatment was second only to mizhu and the same as that of sun Qian. Jian Yong's later life is unknown.

It is said that the surname of Jian yongben was Geng, but the people of Youzhou changed the surname from Geng to Jian.

Once, in case of a severe drought, it would be a crime to order a prohibition of alcohol and make wine. However, some officials have found wine making utensils from the people's homes and are discussing whether they should be punished together with wine makers. One day, Jian Yong and Liu Bei were touring together. Seeing a couple passing by, Jian Yong said to Liu Bei, "they are going to have sex. Why don't you tie them up?" Liu Bei was surprised and asked, "how do you know?" Jian Yong humorously replied, "they all have utensils for adultery, just like wine making utensils found in people's houses." After hearing this, Liu Bei laughed and let go of the people's house where he kept his wine making utensils. Jane Yong's antics are similar to this.

Even in front of Liu Bei, Jian Yong stretched out his feet and turned to his side. He didn't pay attention to the dignity of his manners and just cared about his own comfort. Apart from Zhuge Liang, when he is with other people, he takes up a couch and lies down with his hands on his neck to talk to others, not to be condescended by anyone.

Commemoration of later generations

The hall of marquis Wu in the southern suburb of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is located in the west corridor of the west side hall of Liubei hall. Fourteen statues are carved to commemorate the Wen Chen corridor of the Shu Han Dynasty. The statue of Jian Yong is the second in the list. It was built in the 29th year of Daoguang reign in the Qing Dynasty (1849 AD). The 14 statues of Wen Chen were Pang Tong, Jian Yong, Lu Kai, Fu Yi, Fei Yi, Dong He, Deng Zhi, Chen Zhen, Jiang Wan, Dong Yun, Qin MI, Yang Hong, Ma Liang and Cheng Ji.

Memorial of tombs

According to Xianfeng's five official records in Jianzhou annals, Jianyong was named Xianhe. In the old annals (referring to Jianzhou annals of Qianlong in 1793), general Zhaode was in charge of niuxian county during the reign of zhaolie. He recruited and collected many people, benefiting people and relying on them. The famous mountain was called laijianshan, and the pool was called laijianchi

According to the three local records in the volume, "Lai Jianshan is 50 Li northeast of the prefecture, and the lower part of it depends on Jianchi." "Yuanhe Zhi" of Tang Dynasty said: "Jianzhou was established in Sui Dynasty, and Jianzhou was named after Jianchi." Judging from these historical materials, Jian Yong contributed a lot to the naming of Jianzhou and Jianyang, and he was the first official in the history of Jianyang.

Jian Yong tomb was built in Jianyang City, but it was razed to the ground when the Chengdu Chongqing highway was built, and the stone man and stone beast in front of the tomb were smashed into gravel and paved the roadbed. Now there is a road called Jianyong Lane in Jianyang City.

There is also a magical legend about Jian Yong's tomb. It is said that there are three organs in Jian Yong's tomb. The coffin is a hanging coffin, which is tens of meters long and about three meters wide. There are oil tanks in it for lighting. There are many ancient weapons in the tomb. In the late Qing Dynasty, it was patronized by thieves of Yihua's family name, and the tombstone was damaged. In the second year of the Republic of China, the county government paid for the restoration.

In the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the image of Jian Yong is similar to the official history. He is a fellow townsman with Liu Bei. He acted as a shogunate. After Liu Bei invested in Yuan Shao and wanted to leave, Jian Yong designed his escape.

When Liu Zhang surrendered, he took Jian Yong as his envoy. Jian Yong was sitting in the car and deliberately arrogant, which was denounced by Qin MI. Soon after, he became general Zhaode.
