In August 1937, he served as deputy commander of major general of 147 brigade of the division. In December, he took part in the defense of Nanjing's shouniu mountain. On the 9th, after three days of fierce fighting with the enemy, he retreated to the east of Shuiximen as a reserve team and continued to fight with the enemy. On the 13th, he died outside Shuiximen.
In August 2015, it was listed in the list of the second batch of 600 famous Anti Japanese heroes and heroes released by the Ministry of civil affairs.
