He imitates Wang Meng most skillfully, and his figure painting is also very exquisite. He is good at painting bamboo. He is lively in wind and rain. In particular, the carving of bamboo with painting technique is integrated with the southern and Northern schools. His skills are well-known in the countryside. He carved landscapes, characters and clumps of bamboo. He used a knife like a pen. He didn't have to borrow other people's manuscripts. In addition to being good at carving patterns with the combination of intaglio and bas relief, he is especially good at carving deeply with the intaglio technique, and then carving local patterns in the deep parts according to the needs of patterns, which is called "deep sinking". This kind of profound skill started from Zhu Songlin to Zhou Hao. Handed down works are mainly pen holders and armrests. The bamboo carving of Nanzong mountain and water is the most distinctive, which is quite different from the bamboo carving of Sanzhu. Jin Yuanyu praised Zhou Hao as one of the best poets in bamboo, just like Du Fu in Tang Dynasty.
