Wu Chucai
Wu Chucai (1655-1719), named Chengquan and Ziyu, was born in Zhoushan, Shanyin, Zhejiang Province. He was taught by his family when he was young and diligent. When he was 16 years old, he suffered from foot disease, and he was still unable to let go of it for several years. The disease healed, the knowledge greatly improved, set up the library to teach at home. I took the exam many times, but I failed. Together with his nephew Wu diaohou, he compiled the book Guwen Guanzhi.
Life experience
Wu xingzuo was the governor of Fujian Province at that time. When Chu CAI was 24 years old, he went to his family and was respected. Besides the Secretary of the court, he accompanied his son. Xingzuo said that Chucai was "filial and friendly in nature, devoted to mechanics, devoted to work and study, especially good at reading classics and history, and had a special understanding beyond common speaking". Later, Wu xingzuo became the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, and then went to Guangzhou with him.
Main works
In 1694, Wu Chucai and his nephew, Wu tiaohou, compiled a book called Guwen Guanzhi, which consists of 12 volumes and contains 222 articles from the pre Qin period to the end of the Ming Dynasty. It is mainly composed of prose, and contains parallel prose. It is an enlightening reading book of the old literature, which has been widely spread.

In 1711, Wu Chucai compiled a book named "Gangjian yizhilu", which consists of 107 volumes. The family uncle kept the order of rites. He thought that "the law follows the outline, the notes on Wang and Liu, the simple notes are appropriate, and the refined and popular tastes are shared.". As an old primary history textbook, it is as popular as Guwen Guanzhi.
