Tan Ge, formerly known as Tan Tongzhan, was born in 1954 in Longyan iron mine, Hebei Province. His ancestral home is Wanxian County, Hebei Province (now Shunping County, Hebei Province). Writer, reporter, member of China Writers Association, studied in Longyan Iron Mine West Second District primary school in Hebei Province and Xuanhua No.4 Middle School in Hebei Province. He started work in March 1970. He has successively worked as a boiler worker, a repairman, a workshop director, a geological team leader, an office secretary, a propaganda cadre, a newspaper reporter, and a vice mayor of the government. He began to write literature in 1977 and published his works in 1978. So far, he has published 19 novels, more than 1000 short stories and more than 15 million words. Some of the works have been translated into French, Japanese, English and so on. He has won the awards of "contemporary", "October", "people's Literature", "selected novel" and "Novel Monthly". He was admitted to Hebei Normal University in 1984. He graduated in 1986 and worked as a reporter in metallurgical journal and Metallurgical Geology journal. He has been transferred to Hebei Writers Association since 1996. He is now vice chairman of Hebei Writers Association.

Creation chronology

He began to write amateur literature in 1978. in 1979, he published a one act drama "welcome the inspection team" and other works in the workers' daily. In the ten years to 1989, after working, he worked in dozens of newspapers including Lianchi, Gejiu literature and art, Beijing Evening News, Hebei Daily, Baoding literature and art, Donghai, Beijing literature, fiction forest, Sichuan literature, Guangzhou literature and art, works, Tianjin literature, worker's daily, health news, young writers, etc More than 300 short stories, prose and 100 poems were published. The representative works of short stories include chief engineer and his son selling big bowl of tea (edited by Hebei Daily: Han Xiaochun), I want as much as you have (edited by modern writer: Yang Ni), sidelights of Water Margin knowledge and intelligence contest (Guangzhou literature and Art), if you carry a gun and hit a rabbit for the first time (fiction forest), and 40 year old college students (Gonghu) People daily, etc. He has won the prize of soliciting articles or annual prize of some newspapers and periodicals such as worker's daily, Hebei Daily and Tianjin literature. Since 1990, he has been focusing on novel creation. Some short and medium stories have been reprinted by Xinhua digest, fiction monthly, selected novels, selected novellas, works and contending, writers' digest, etc. Such as "the end of the year", "Dachang", "top quality", "world wilderness", "yeminling", "go to the meeting alone", "Tianxiang pickles" and so on. Published and published 19 novels, such as notes of homeland, piaoer, and the killing of baiyutang.

Important literary activities:

in 1981, he participated in the second Literature Workshop (half a year) held by Hebei Federation of literary and art circles. He was employed as a professional writer by Hebei Academy of literature in 1994 (for two years). In 1994, he participated in the youth writers Congress of Hebei Province. In 1996, he attended the Hebei Provincial Writers Congress. He attended the National Writers Congress in 1996. In 1998, he took part in the postgraduate class of Lu Xun College of Arts. He attended the National Writers Congress in 2001. In 2002, he participated in the first advanced seminar of Lu Xun College of Arts. He attended the National Writers Congress in 2006. He participated in the National Writers Congress in 2012.
