Therefore, he is not in the habit of writing all the time. He likes to marry his guests and is a friend of Shi Dongwei. The collection is especially long in the five ancient times, so the collected styles are omitted.
Living in Wu, he liked to tie up four rooms with poems. Poets who come to Wu go to Guangge hall, dress and drink without any illusory days. Brother Yu is also known as "Wu Xia Er Fang" in the poems of Chao Gong. He is also one of the "seven sons of Lingnan".

His works include Shaoyuan collection, Shaohu collection and biographies of Qing history.
Shaohu Pavilion manuscript is included in Qing Dynasty manuscript.
