Character experience
Wang xijue was born in Suining, Sichuan Province on December 28, 1929. In August 1943, he enrolled in the junior high school of the National Air Force infant school in Guanxian County, Sichuan Province (now Dujiangyan City). In 1949, he moved to Donggang, Taiwan with the school. In 1951, he graduated from the 30th term of the air force official school and formally joined the national air force. He was awarded the title of "the Eighth National Army hero of the Republic of China in 1957". After training in the United States, he joined the black cat in 1963 The squadron began to carry out the U-2 reconnaissance mission in cooperation between the CIA and the Taiwan military. Early November 1964. The Central Intelligence Agency dispatched two u-2s to carry out missions in Taiwan. The primary goal was Lanzhou. Wang xijue made no achievements in his first flight. A few days later, Wang xijue went on another mission to fly to Lanzhou. He first flew several hundred kilometers south, and then flew directly to the northwest. Just within 50 kilometers of the target area, Sam's missile warning device suddenly lit up, indicating that the missiles around the Lanzhou nuclear power facility had aimed at the U-2. almost at the same time, the electronic anti missile equipment began to warn. The U-2 was about to turn around and escape. Suddenly, a bright light almost blinded Wang xijue. It was the flame from sam-2 missile propeller. Fortunately, it didn't explode around. The startled Wang xijue quickly set the autopilot to return. When the dawn suddenly appeared, he finally landed in the peach garden, and he was relieved. Infrared photos show that at least three sam-2 missiles were launched from the ground. because of the high risk of U-2 mission, the CIA stipulated that the U-2 mission would be "retired after 10 flights". Wang xijue is one of only three people in the black cat squadron who have flown 10 times. retired on June 16, 1967 and joined China Airlines. He has flown Boeing 707, Boeing 727 and Boeing 747.
Anecdotes of characters
In the turbulent years at the turn of summer and autumn in 1949, Wang xijue moved to Taiwan with his school. Unexpectedly, it was 37 years in a flash! the good memories of his childhood and his hometown and relatives haunt him all the time. He was so homesick that he wanted to have his own parents and siblings. Wang xijue is an excellent pilot. Since he was engaged in flying, he has spent more than 20000 hours flying, and is highly skilled and experienced. Wang xijue married in Taiwan and had a very good life. However, his homesickness could not be made up by his comfortable life. Often in the dead of night, he couldn't sleep. A kind of unspeakable pain pierced his heart. Sometimes, he just fell asleep, but was awakened by nightmares. Lying in bed, he thought that if his parents were still alive, they would be in their 80s. Is he still healthy? Are they also calling for this unfilial son far away from home? Life is so short. Looking at the current mainland policy of the Taiwan authorities, there is such a stalemate between the two sides of the Strait, and the "three links" are so far away. Can he still see the hall in his lifetime? Can old parents wait until that day? When he thought of it, he could not calm down for a long time. In the early 1980s, Wang xijue communicated with his relatives in Sichuan through overseas forwarding. He was overjoyed to learn that his old father was still alive. After many setbacks, he finally met his family in Hong Kong in 1984. This increased his determination to return to the mainland and live with his relatives. A bold idea flashed through his mind.
"China Airlines incident" shocking the world
on May 3, 1986, a "China Airlines" Boeing cargo plane with aircraft number b-198 flying from Bangkok to Hong Kong and Taiwan suddenly arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport. The plane stopped steadily on the wide runway, the door opened, and the captain Wang xijue stepped down the gangway. As soon as Wang xijue saw them, he couldn't wait to say, "I want to reunite with my family. I want to settle down in the mainland." On that night, Lin Ruo, Secretary of the Guangdong provincial Party committee of the Communist Party of China, and ye Xuanping, governor of Guangdong Province, met Wang xijue at Zhudao hotel in Guangzhou and hosted a banquet to welcome him to fly to the mainland of China. Wang xijue said excitedly, "I miss the mountains and rivers and my relatives on the mainland. It's nice to meet you. The Taiwan compatriots all hope that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait can have trade, postal and shipping links. " Yang sider, then director of the office of the leading group for Taiwan Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, recalled that Wang xijue was accompanied by the co pilot, a mechanic and 220000 pounds of goods. As soon as the leaders of the Central Committee were informed of the incident, they immediately instructed us to state our position and attitude in a timely manner and properly handle the incident. On the day the plane landed, the mainland, in the name of the Civil Aviation Administration, called China Airlines to clarify the nature of the incident and invited them to send people to Beijing as soon as possible to discuss the handling of people, aircraft and cargo. Taiwan tried its best to avoid direct contact with the mainland and proposed to entrust Cathay Pacific Airways or the International Red Cross to negotiate with the mainland. The Central Committee has unequivocally insisted on "not allowing any third party to interfere". On May 11, the mainland again called China Airlines in the name of the Civil Aviation Administration, reiterating that this is purely a business negotiation between the two civil aviation companies and does not involve political issues. He also made it clear that if it's inconvenient to go to Beijing, they can also propose a place they think is convenient for them to discuss. "Taiwan has no reason to refuse this. On May 13, through Mr. Yao Gang, managing director of Swire Group, Taiwan sent a message to the mainland side, expressing its willingness to send someone to negotiate with the mainland side in Hong Kong." Said youngster. He then arrived in Hong Kong on the morning of May 15 for a four party meeting. According to the central government's decision, in addition to Wang xijue, who strongly demanded to settle in the mainland, other people, machines and things should be returned to Taiwan. Such a decision has attracted worldwide attention and won widespread praise at home and abroad. Taiwan's party and government as well as Taiwan's public opinion have questioned the "three noes" policy and proposed that veterans should be allowed to visit their relatives at home. On the 23rd, the cargo plane of China Airlines arrived in Hong Kong from Guangzhou, and the two sides took over. Yang said that the successful settlement of the China Airlines incident has had a far-reaching impact on future work in Taiwan, "won international support, won the masses in Taiwan, won sympathy in public opinion, and further increased the possibility of dialogue with Taiwan in the future." Hong Kong wide angle mirror magazine published an article by a Taiwan veteran: "more than 30 years ago, millions of people from mainland provinces voluntarily or forcibly came to Taiwan with the Kuomintang. How many families were broken and how many flesh and blood were separated! For more than 30 years, under the strict prohibition, we put the greatest needs of human nature in the deepest of our hearts. We only cry when we dream back at night! How many people can't wait to see their families, die in Taiwan, and die for life! Who has no parents or children? Who has no brothers or sisters? How long does it take to wait from middle age to old age? Is it only in this abnormal way that we can meet our relatives? " the editorial "turning point to history" published by Hong Kong's China Daily holds that "never touch, this is a historic breakthrough." Taiwan's public opinion believes that "negotiations are beneficial and constructive." "Although China Airlines and AVIC have different motives, holding talks in Hong Kong marks the break of the isolation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait for more than 30 years, and the first face-to-face negotiation between the two sides. This is a breakthrough and has attracted worldwide attention." People from all walks of life in Taiwan responded strongly. In a written question to Taiwan's Executive Yuan, Taiwan's "legislator" Xie Xuexian said that cargo plane captain Wang xijue said that he flew to the mainland to visit his elderly father. Therefore, the occurrence of this incident is the result of the Taiwan authorities' prohibition of people to visit their relatives in mainland China. He pointed out that mainland people in Taiwan are homesick and affectionate, and should consider allowing them to visit their relatives in their hometown from a humanitarian standpoint. With the passage of time, the KMT veterans who retreated to Taiwan with Chiang Kai Shek are gradually in their twilight years. Their homesickness is accumulating day by day, and they are eager to return to the mainland and reunite with their relatives. The force from the people has also become an important driving force to break the cross-strait deadlock. It was the "China Airlines incident" directed and starred by Wang xijue in 1986 that directly ignited waves of Veterans' passion to return to their homeland. In 1987, tens of thousands of veterans launched a home visit movement in Taipei, asking the Taiwan authorities for permission to return to the mainland to visit their relatives. On that year's mother's day, tens of thousands of veterans took to the streets to hold a rally at the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall in Taipei in the name of "mother's day to my mother.". The veterans were wearing white shirts with bright red "homesick" printed on the front and "Mom, I miss you so much" on the back. They sang the song "where are you, Mom" together: "flying geese, flying in the white clouds; you may see it carefully when you pass by. Geese, I want to ask you, where is my mother... " The whole meeting was filled with tears, which made people moved. After months of struggle, on October 15, 1987, the Taiwan authorities announced the opening of family visits. Also on October 15, the people's Daily published a talk with Xinhua News Agency about the Taiwan authorities' opening up of Taiwan compatriots to visit relatives in the mainland by the person in charge of relevant departments of the State Council We warmly welcome Taiwan compatriots to visit their relatives in the mainland of China Guarantee freedom to come and go. We will try our best to provide convenience and care... " Therefore, Wang xijue is known as“
