Guo Dashun
Guo Dashun, born in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province on November 3, 1938, graduated from the Department of history of Peking University in 1962 and 1965. It was assigned to Liaoning Provincial Museum in 1968. From 1983 to 1994, he was deputy director of Liaoning Provincial Department of culture and director of Liaoning Provincial Institute of cultural relics and archaeology. He retired in 1998. He is now the honorary director of Liaoning Provincial Institute of cultural relics and archaeology, the head of the expert group of Liaoning Provincial Bureau of cultural relics, and the executive director of Chinese archaeological society.
Main achievements
He has successively presided over the archaeological excavation of the famous Hongshanhou and Hongshan cultural period sites such as Xiaoheyan, shipengshan, Dongshanzui and Niuheliang. Known as the first person of Hongshan culture.
