He is also the editorial board member of "History Teaching", "history research" and "philosophy research". He also led the establishment of "new historiography bulletin" (historiography monthly), which has made great contributions to the development of the academic field of Chinese philosophy history and ancient ideological history. He cultivated people meticulously in the education front, and his works were rich and his learning spread all over the world. He was known as a giant in the academic circle and a model for teachers.
When Ji Wenfu was 6 years old, he went to a private school, and later to Li's private primary school in Weihui.
In 1910, Ji Wenfu entered Weihui government school (Weihui middle school, now Weihui No.1 Middle School). At that time, it was the eve of the 1911 Revolution, and the revolutionary ideas spread rapidly throughout the country. Weihui middle school is an important position for the spread of revolutionary thought in Northern Henan, where Ji Wenfu was first bathed in revolutionary thought.
At that time, several of the teachers in Weihui middle school were members of the league. Among them, Mr. Liu cuixuan had the greatest influence on Ji Wenfu. Mr. Liu is knowledgeable and progressive in thought. Although he teaches Confucian classics, he constantly introduces the progressive newspapers such as min Bao and the soul of the Yellow Emperor to the students in class, instilling the idea of democratic revolution into the students. Mr. Liu is very fond of Ji Wenfu, a diligent and upright student. Ji Wenfu later said in the Memoirs of 1911: "I was only 15 years old at that time. I just admired him naively. Once, no matter whether he took a Chinese course or not, he took a composition and asked him to correct it. He was very happy and told me to go to him often. From then on, every three or five days or ten and a half months, I went to him to borrow books to read. He told me about Han Yu's "epitaph of liuzihou" and the passage "Zhi Qiong is Jian Jie Yi". I was very moved... "
Revolutionary activities
At that time, revolutionary activities had been secretly carried out in Weihui middle school. Once, a peddler with a cart came to the school and lived at Liu cuixuan for more than 20 days. However, he never talked about business, but often talked about current affairs with his classmates. Another time, Liu cuixuan led Ji Wenfu to a family where there were five or six people. From the conversation, Ji Wenfu learned that they were plotting to blow up the Beijing Han railway. Many years later, he said with emotion: "next door to the school is the magistrate Yamen. The magistrate Hua Hui is still in his dream. I don't know that the revolutionaries under his eyes are making a lot of trouble!" Later, Liu cuixuan died bravely in the anti Qing war in western Henan. Decades later, Ji Wenfu wrote in his autobiography that Mr. Liu was "a person who made my thoughts have political consciousness and inspired me to pursue truth and light This is a beginning for me to hate the old society, yearn for the new society and devote myself to the cause of revolution.
Another person who had a great influence on Ji Wenfu was Mr. Li MINXIU. Mr. Li was a Jinshi in the late Qing Dynasty. He had good moral cultivation and was one of the scholars advocating new learning in Henan. He founded Jixian primary school, Jixian middle school and Jingzheng bookstore. He collected more than 300000 volumes of books, from which Ji Wenfu benefited a lot. Mr. Li MINXIU liked Ji Wenfu's diligence and eagerness to learn, and gave him advice in many ways. He later said in the article "reading the chronicle of wuziqizhai characters" that "Wen had been served since he was young, and had been intimate for a long time", which refers to this situation.
Personal experience
When Ji Wenfu was 6 years old, he went to a private school, and later to Li's private primary school in Weihui. He is very talented and has a good memory. He can recite a large section of an article only once or twice. Ji Wenfu has a habit: he studies to the point of forgetting to eat and sleep on weekdays, but before the exam, when others begin to "grind their guns in the cold", he throws away his books and sleeps for three days, and his exam results are always among the best. Once, when he was reading in the classroom, he suddenly heard someone calling his name out of the window and yelling at him. The scolder was a naughty student, obviously making trouble for no reason. However, he sat still and continued to study, totally ignoring the provocation of that classmate. Afterwards, the teacher heard about it and praised Ji Wenfu in class. He said that if he had such a mind and self-restraint, he would surely achieve great things in the future.
On the 20th of 1912, Ji Wenfu organized a temporary assembly to celebrate the inauguration of Sun Yat sen in Nanjing.
In the summer of 1913, Ji Wenfu graduated from middle school and was admitted to Peking University. Although the family is better off than before, it is not enough to cope with the expenses in the metropolis. When he went to school, he ate the cheapest food in the simple rice shed near Peking University, which was still unsustainable. Soon, he was forced to drop out of school and return to Jixian.
Back in Ji County, Ji Wenfu taught English in the primary school attached to Jingzheng bookstore. He also taught Chinese and history in the county primary school. This period of teaching life had an impact on his future development. When he recalled this period of life, he once said: "at that time, naive children aroused my love. Therefore, I had a strong interest in teaching, which has a lot to do with my decades of education."
Ji Wenfu got married at this time. Although the wife has no culture, she is dutiful and kind-hearted. She follows her husband all her life without complaint. Without her hard work, Ji Wenfu could not have found peace in his reading and research.
In 1915, after accumulating a year and a half of meager income, he went to Beijing and was admitted to Peking University. Although his classmates are only ten or twenty, among them are Feng Youlan, Chen Zhongfan, sun Wenwen and other famous figures. Because Ji Wenfu had a good foundation and excellent academic performance, he was highly valued by Ma Xulun and other professors. In 1926, he went to study at Sun Yat sen University in Moscow, Soviet Union. After returning to China in 1928, he taught in Tsinghua University, Peking University, Yanjing University, China University, Beiping women's normal university and Henan University.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he successively served as vice chairman of the people's Government of Henan Province, member of the Central South military and political Commission, President of Kaifeng Normal University, President of Zhengzhou University, member of the Department of philosophy and social sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and member of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference. On July 1, 1959, Ji Wenfu rejoined the Communist Party of China. He has been devoted to the study of pre Qin philosophers and Neo Confucianism in song and Ming Dynasties for a long time.
On October 9, 1963, Ji Wenfu suffered from cerebral hemorrhage and died on October 10.
