Li Leishi
Li Leishi (October 26, 1926 - March 16, 2010), born in Changsha, Hunan Province, is a nephrologist, founder of Chinese kidney therapy, academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, vice president and professor of Clinical College of Medical College of Nanjing University.
Li Leishi graduated from national Zhongzheng Medical College in 1948, served as vice president of the Medical College of Nanjing University in 1963, director of the Institute of Nephrology of the Chinese people's Liberation Army in 1964, joined the Communist Party of China in 1981, went to the Royal Hospital of Melbourne University in Australia as a visiting professor in April 1986, served as vice president of the Clinical College of Medical College of Nanjing University in 1986, and was elected as the eighth CPPCC National Committee in 1993 He was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1994, a member of the presidium of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1998, a lifelong honorary member of the international society of nephrology in 2003, a first-class merit award from the Central Military Commission in 2009, and died on March 16, 2010 at the age of 84.
Li Leishi has been engaged in clinical, medical, scientific research and teaching for more than 40 years, involving various fields of internal medicine. From 1950s to 1960s, he was mainly engaged in tropical (parasitic and infectious diseases); from 1960s to 1970s, he worked in the Department of internal medicine, mainly in cardiovascular diseases; after 1970s, he specialized in kidney diseases. Together with his mother Li zhouxia, they went to Guilin, Guangxi to join Li Zhong. In August 1943, he and his brother Li Jieshou were admitted to the clinical medicine major of National Chung Cheng medical college. In September, he entered the clinical medicine major of Zhongzheng Medical College and joined the "three Youth League" under the mobilization of his classmates he gaoqiu and Li Longgang. In 1944, Zhongzheng Medical College moved from Yongxin, Jiangxi Province to Tangjiang, Jiangxi Province. In April 1981, he joined the Communist Party of China. In 1982, Li Leishi went to Australia to attend the second Asia Pacific Conference on kidney disease. Due to the low level of kidney disease research in China at that time, he was not qualified to speak as a representative of the conference. from April 1986 to May 1986, he went to the Royal Hospital of the University of Melbourne, Australia as a visiting professor. from May 1986 to March 2010, he was vice president and professor of Clinical College of Medical College of Nanjing University. in 1990, he was elected as the director of the international society of Nephrology (representing the Asia Pacific region) at the Tokyo Conference. In 1992, he founded and edited the Journal of kidney disease, dialysis and kidney transplantation. In 1994, he was elected as one of the first academicians of the Chinese Academy of engineering and served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Ministry of medicine and health. In 1998, he was selected as a member of the presidium of the Chinese Academy of engineering. In March 2005, the 10th International Blood Purification conference was held in San Diego, and Li Leishi was the executive chairman of the conference again. on the morning of March 16, 2010, he jumped from his home on the 14th floor of Beijing West Road in Nanjing and died. He was 84 years old.

Li Leishi's father, Li PUTANG, and his mother, Li zhouxia. At home ranked sixth and third. Elder sister Li Min, elder brother Li Ao, second elder sister Li Zhong, elder brother Li Jieshou.
