Zhuanli is ancient and simple, and most of the people who are famous for their mountains and rivers use dry brush, which is magnificent and unique. Emperor Qianlong wrote a lot about it. On the 24th of December, 1758, Bangda and Cao Xueqin, the author of a dream of Red Mansions, met in duncheng's family to talk about Zhu's paintings. It was as if they had met at first sight. They once signed and wrote a preface for Cao's "South Yao and North kite kaogong Zhi", which is a good story. In the middle of Qing Dynasty, Qian Weicheng and Zeng Weicheng were famous painters. Dong Gao, the eldest son of Dong Bangda, is also a famous painter.
Dual identity
Dong Bangda has a dual identity: an official and a painter. As an official, Dong Bangda has a brilliant career and great honor. Judging from Dong Bangda's life experience, he took the road of imperial examination. As a senior high school scholar, he was an official of the imperial court. He was busy with official business, so painting could only be dong Bangda's "sideline", so he was not a professional painter. As a painter, Dong Bangda was really good at it, especially famous for landscape painting. He was a famous painter at that time. His style of painting is far from the "four schools of Yuan Dynasty" (Huang Gongwang, Wu Zhen, Ni Zan, Wang Meng), and near to the "four kings of early Qing Dynasty" (Wang Shimin, Wang Jian, Wang Hui, Wang Yuanqi). His works are light and elegant, and his brushwork is light and elegant.
As Dong Bangda was a high-ranking official, he was also good at landscape painting, and the emperor also appreciated his painting skills. Therefore, among his many popular works, some of them belonged to "Chen Zi Kuan", which was specially painted for the emperor. From the perspective of Qing Dynasty paintings, there are a large number of "Chen Zi" paintings, but the status of "Chen Zi" painters is quite different. There are not only "Jinzhiyuye" clan, but also prominent officials, but also low status professional painters dedicated to the court. Among Dong Bangda's existing works, there are many paintings with "minister's character". However, the axis of this painting is "painted by Dong Bangda", and the character "minister" is not in front of the name, which indicates that this painting was not painted by the emperor. From other paintings, we can know that the person who was painted by this painting is not a layman, and should belong to the nobility of "Prince" and "Princess". As for the specific person, it is impossible to make a detailed investigation.
