Liu Gan
Liu Gan (1914-1989) was born in Yishui, Shandong Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1938.
Life story
He joined the Communist Party of China in 1938. In the winter of 1941, he took part in the ten member tour organized by Shandong Branch. In July 1942, he was Secretary of the CPC Zhenhua County Committee. In March 1943, a local Party committee in the border area of Hebei and Shandong abolished the three small counties of Jujin, Ningjin, and Zhenhua, and merged Ningjin, Zhenhua, and the two districts originally assigned to Jujin County into Zhenhua county. He was appointed Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zhenhua County Committee. In June 1944, he served as secretary of the CPC Southeast (Wu) county Party committee and political commissar of the county brigade. In September of the same year, he served as secretary of the Dongwu county Party committee and political commissar of the county brigade. In January 1946, after the revocation of the Dongwu county Party committee, he was appointed secretary of the Wuqiao county Party committee and political commissar of the county brigade. After March 1947, he served as secretary of the CPC Jinnan County Committee (including Qingxian, Jinghai and Xinhai). In February 1948, he served as the chief of cadre section of Organization Department of Bohai district Party committee. From 1950 to 1960, he served as the chief and deputy director of the cadre section of the Organization Department of the Shandong Branch of the CPC Central Committee, deputy secretary of the Shandong provincial Party committee Supervision Committee and Secretary of the Jining Municipal Party Committee Secretariat. In 1960, he served as secretary of Zaozhuang municipal Party committee. In May 1964, he was Vice Minister of the Organization Department of the Shandong provincial Party committee. In March 1966, he served as secretary of the CPC Zibo Municipal Committee. In August 1972, he was the director of the Water Conservancy Bureau of Shandong Province. In May 1975, he served as secretary of the CPC Dezhou prefectural committee. In February 1978, he served as director of the United Front Work Department of the Shandong provincial Party committee. In June of the same year, he served as the procurator general of Shandong Provincial People's Procuratorate. In December 1981, he served as deputy director of the Standing Committee of Shandong Provincial People's Congress and vice director of the Standing Committee of the fifth and sixth Shandong Provincial People's Congress. Deputy to the Fifth National People's Congress. He retired after graduation.
