Art peak
Ding shi'e plays Fan Yi in thunderstorm.
There are many dramas adapted from literary masterpieces in Shanghai Opera performances, among which thunderstorm, adapted from Cao Yu's drama of the same name, is the most popular one. Since the 1940s, this play has been staged many times on the Shanghai Opera stage. The most sensational performance was undoubtedly the wonderful performance at the Shanghai Opera Star conference in 1959, which showed Ding shi'e's extraordinary ability to grasp complex roles and became another milestone in her artistic career.
Fanyi is a twisted and complicated character. She is not only the hostess of the Zhou family, but also the victim and rebel of the evil family. She has beautiful yearning, but it can't be realized in this suffocating family. Ding shie describes her resistance to her husband Zhou Puyuan again and again. In the entanglement with young master Zhou Ping, she focuses on Fanyi's infatuation and patience, which is the specific performance of the character's character in a specific environment. Because of this, she can interpret Fanyi's last act of revenge smoothly and naturally, which is quite in line with the character's logic. Due to Ding shi'e's successful interpretation of the heroine Fanyi, she won the reputation of "living Fanyi".
Among the stage images created by Ding shie'e, the most successful and influential one is, of course, ah qingsao in Lu Dang Huo Zhong. Only when we understand deeply can we express accurately. In shaping the artistic image of the lady who is both the owner of the teahouse and the underground liaison of the party, she grasped the backbone of the characters and performed Mrs. a qingsao in a proper manner.
Especially in the "Zhidou" scene, her revelation of ah qingsao's role, especially her handling of some details, is vivid, delicate and vivid, which is amazing. When Hu Chuankui introduced her to Diao Deyi, she obviously felt Diao Deyi's distrust, so she stood still and looked at her with her eyes. She just looked up and down a little. But in the use of her eyes at that moment, she fully showed a qingsao's alertness and calmness. When Mrs. a qingsao lights a cigarette and delivers tea, Diao de pulls down her face and makes a cold and provocative remark. Ding shie, holding the lighted match, stops slightly, looks at each other, and then goes to Hu Chuankui to complain and question. In this way, Mrs. a qingsao was able to cope with the complex situation calmly and accurately. She really reached a high level of perfection in art. The successful creation of a qingsao makes Ding shie reach the artistic peak of her sixty years of acting career.
As a great master, Ding shie didn't hold her own concert until her death.
