Chen Ji
Chen Ji (1314-1370), a native of Linhai, Taizhou (now Zhejiang), lives in Yangli, Fenghuangshan, Wuzhong (now Zhangjiagang). He was a famous poet in Jiangnan at the end of Yuan Dynasty.
After learning from Huang Zhen, a famous scholar at that time, he toured the capital and was granted the post of Jingyan review. After drafting the admonishment chapter for others, he was almost convicted and led back to Wuzhong to live as a professor. Chen Jimin is studious and proficient in the spring and Autumn Annals and other Confucian classics. He is virtuous and filial. Zheng Yuanyou, a man of his time, wrote a poem entitled Chen Jingchu brothers: "he Lu city is a place for leisure, and the four walls of the city are full of autumn language. What's different from the old moon in Beijing, where the light shines on the white headed relatives." That is to say, it reflects the scene of their brothers' filial piety.
At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, there was a great turmoil, and many heroes came into being. Zhang Shicheng, who was independent of Wu, heard of his name and called him wailang, a member of the right Department of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, to join his military. Calligraphy
Chen Ji is famous for his poems, but his calligraphy is rarely mentioned. Influenced by Li Beihai, his calligraphy style is elegant. At the same time, he is good at seal script. There are four running books in the Palace Museum, namely, meeting calligraphy, kuyu calligraphy, wedding calligraphy and xianlang calligraphy. Among them, the first two were inscribed in sanxitang calligraphy during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty, and ten running poems were engraved in sanxitang calligraphy.
