Profile
Zhou Quan, (1955 -) female, from Jiangshan, Zhejiang Province. Graduated from Journalism Department of CUHK. She used to be a public relations counter miss of China television company, a reporter of Zhengsheng broadcasting company, a reporter, producer and TV news anchor of the news department of China television company. She joined the legislative ranks in order to open up and reform the media, known as the mother of Taiwan's cable TV. In 1989, he was nominated by the KMT and elected as a "legislator" to increase the number of members, entering the political arena. He was a member of the "golden hairpin League", a subordinate political organization of the "Taiwan legislature", and announced in 1993 that he would withdraw from the KMT and join the "new KMT link". On October 20, 1997, Zhou Quan announced that he would withdraw from the new party and run for Taipei county magistrate. In the spring of 1999, in order to understand the mainland media environment and cross-strait interaction, Zhou Quan went to Beijing to visit CCTV and BTV. She found that Beijing is also very eager to know how Taiwan audiences evaluate CCTV programs in Beijing. However, after the event, the two sides did not have further specific cooperation intention. In May 2002, Feng Huxiang, a new party "legislator" who ran for president with Li Ao, brought a message to Zhou Quan. CCTV hoped that she would record an interview with Li Ao on her behalf, which was divided into six units. After recording, the tape would be sent to Beijing for broadcast by CCTV. Zhou Quan realized that this was a major breakthrough in cross-strait media interaction. If the mainland can let Li Ao speak, it must have been repeatedly studied and approved by the relevant departments. At that time, she only put forward a request that she must face CCTV directly, and there was no need for middlemen, so as to fully understand the whole process. In July 2000, Zhou Quan, then chairman of Taiwan truth TV (political and economic news network), finally helped Li Ao "land" in Beijing. In July 2001, at the invitation of CCTV, Zhou Quan participated in an on-the-spot interview. She expressed her views on "the grand occasion of Beijing's bid for the Olympic Games is an excessive conceit of the Chinese nation caused by the long-term external humiliation and excessive inferiority complex, which is regarded as a very irrational national consciousness." she believed that the success of the bid for the Olympic Games is a great challenge to the Taiwan Strait Both sides will bring business opportunities.
