One day in April 1952, Tang Dabai received a communication from Hunan Youth Daily, which published the first batch of special reporters. Tang Dabai's name was included in the list. Tang Dabai jumped up with joy. A few days later, the special reporter card of Hunan Youth Daily was also sent. The news spread all over the region and even the whole county of Xiangyin. From then on, everyone really sent Tang Dabai to Hunan Youth Daily Bo became a reporter. Whenever there was something new, he wrote or called Tang Dabai and asked him to write a manuscript and publish it in the newspaper. In 1953, Hunan Youth Daily published the title of "Comrade Tang Dabai cares about the work of Youth League newspaper" in the communication journal, and praised Tang Dabai for the first time. On April 30, 1955, Hunan Youth Daily published "low culture, you can also write good manuscripts". It continued to praise Tang Dabai's enthusiasm for writing manuscripts with a larger page, and attached his experience article. In this article, Tang Dabai wrote: "people with low culture can write manuscripts. As long as the eyes are willing to see things, the ears are willing to listen to things, the brain is willing to think things, the heart is willing to remember things, the mouth is willing to ask things, can always care about the production and life of the masses, care about everything around, and really write out the meaningful things that you hear, you can become manuscripts, and you can also write good manuscripts! For example, in October of last year (1954), Tang Dabai worked in Xiangyin mass agricultural society. One day, he saw a pile of buckwheat in front of Fu Yunsheng's door, on which there were a lot of chickens and ducks to eat and make nests. Many members ignored him. Later, Fu Wengen and other three members saw it and rushed to cover it. Tang Dabai was very moved when he stood by and saw the scene. He thought it was a manifestation of the new morality of loving the society. It must be very helpful for other young people to write a manuscript and publish it. Tang Dabai didn't even eat dinner, so he wrote it in time and sent it to the newspaper. The newspaper quickly replied to a letter from Tang Dabai, saying: "this manuscript is well written". It was soon published in Hunan Youth Daily, and many readers also reflected that this manuscript is well written. All of these prove that there is no need to worry about "low culture" in writing. Then "Jianshe Bao" and "Hunan Youth Daily" all commented on Tang Dabai's articles such as "Youzhen's marriage", "protecting seedlings in rainy night", "three league members covering buckwheat", "not taking half the advantage of the community", etc. among them, "three league members covering buckwheat" was also selected by "seven mothers nursing children" published by China Youth Publishing House. In April 1956, I was transferred to "Xiangyin daily" as a reporter, which really brought about Tang Dabai's "reporter dream". In August 1960, Tang Dabai was transferred to Hunan Daily as a photographer. In this way, he stepped into the ranks of reporters step by step.

Wishes and practices

When you become a reporter of the county and provincial newspapers, you should say that the "reporter dream" has come true! It's time to be satisfied. At that time, however, Tang was not satisfied. He always felt that this dream had not been fulfilled, because Tang had another wish, that is, to pass on the profession of journalist from generation to generation and become a journalist family. On November 16, 1958, when Xiangyue, the first son of Tang Dabai, came to the world, Tang decided to train him to be a journalist. Being a journalist is respected. But Tang Dabai didn't think so. He said, "it's a great responsibility to be a journalist. I've been running below all the year round and I can't care about my family's affairs. It's also very hard, but there's joy in it. It's often hard for one person in exchange for WAN Jiahuan. I've always loved this career, and I believe my wife can understand it.". When it comes to training Xiangyue (Tang Dabai's son) to be a reporter, it's my wish. Tang Dabai also told his wife what he thought. She said it's a child's business, and I'll see if he can win. Tang Dabai said that it's not about whether our children are competitive or not, but whether our parents have the confidence and determination to cultivate them. When Xiangyue was nearly three years old, Tang Dabai specially took a picture of "little reporter" for him. "Little reporter" is Tang Dabai's favorite work, and it is also the starting point of the dream of the second generation of reporters of the Tang family. We should cultivate him according to the requirements of "little reporter". When he has free time, he will tell him the story of his interview, introduce the deeds of model figures, and sometimes bring him to the scene of news interview to let him make some records, or invite model figures to his home to take some photos, so that he can have the opportunity to see the world, contact model figures, and feel the taste of being a reporter since he was a child. When Xiangyue was in the third grade of primary school, Tang Dabai added a "little reporter" course to his course, telling him to write. The beginning is to learn to write a diary, one article a day, like a running account. Later, with the title, became a short article. When he wrote 100 articles, he helped him to draw a page in his diary, with lace and illustrations, and became a "diary". He persisted until he went to university and wrote more than 3000 articles in total. Some of his diaries were published in newspapers and magazines, such as "shaoshangao" and "red star takes me to fight". Tang Dabai went to Nanyue many times and knew that it was hard to climb the mountain after freezing. The reason why we chose to spend the Spring Festival at home, when no one visited the mountain, we chose the bad weather, of course, for a purpose. This is to test Xiangyue and make him understand that he who remembers must be able to bear hardships and enjoy unlimited scenery on dangerous peaks. In the past few days, his feet fell and his hands were frozen, but he didn't cry bitterly. He took photos during the day and wrote articles at night. It was a very meaningful Spring Festival. Soon after, a group of pictures of "ice flowers in Nanyue" co authored by father and son were published in Hunan Daily, and were rated as good news photos of the year. After graduating from University, Xiangyue was assigned to Hunan daily and later transferred to Guangming Daily. His wish to be a reporter became a reality, and Tang Dabai's dream to continue to be a reporter came true.

A trip to Hong Kong

In 1992, when Tang Dabai was the chairman of Hunan Photographers Association, he invited Hong Kong and Shenzhen photographers to Zhangjiajie, Taohuayuan and other places in Hunan Province for equal creation, and then held a photography exchange exhibition in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Hunan respectively. In December of that year, the first exhibition was on display in Hong Kong on time. Because he failed to catch up with the exit procedures, Tang did not organize a group to go to Hong Kong until April of the next year. Tang Dabai and his party are composed of four people. He is the head of the group, Li Yongan is the secretary general, and Hu Yongming and long Fuyun, who won gold and silver medals in Wulingyuan photography exhibition. On the day of departure, when Tang Dabai got on the bus at Shenzhen station, he was thinking about how to let them find us at the gate of the crowded station. Unexpectedly, Mr. Huang Bingrong, a senior photographer sent by Hong Kong Photography circles, appeared in front of us. He said, "you haven't been to Hong Kong. We'd better meet you on the bus." Mr. Huang's words also really made Tang Dabai more practical. As soon as he got off the bus, more than ten people, including Huo Dinghong, President of Hong Kong Creative Photography Society, and Yao Peter, President of Hong Kong New Film Academy of art, led him to a special welcome party. As soon as he entered, he saw a sign in place for the opening ceremony of Wulingyuan photography art exhibition. Looking up again, the layout of the meeting was completely the same as that of December 1992 The same scenes and specifications at the time of the curtain are the same as the replay of the opening ceremony in 1992. No one thought of this. The first impression it gave Tang Dabai was: Hong Kong people are really enthusiastic! in the next week's photography creation, their friendship was further deepened. One day, Tang Dabai found that the people who accompanied them in the creation were carrying large bags of things, such as drinks, food and tripod. Tang Dabai asked one of his companions, "why do you accompany us to create a tripod without a camera?" The escort said with a smile: "this is what we have discussed. We found that you didn't bring a tripod when you came here. It's specially prepared for you. If you don't bring a camera, you can accompany me wholeheartedly. If you bring a camera, we are familiar with the place. Won't we grab the camera with you?" This made everyone laugh, but after laughing, he felt a little ashamed, because when Tang Dabai accompanied them, they were all armed!
