Pei Yuanying
Pei Yuanying, born in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, is a senior Chinese diplomat and a senior research fellow of the China foundation for international studies.
Pei Yuanying was born in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province in 1936. He studied at Nankai University in Tianjin and Warsaw University in Poland. He joined the Ministry of foreign affairs in 1958. He has successively served as director, counsellor and deputy director of the Department of Soviet Eastern Europe of the Ministry of foreign affairs, director of the Policy Research Office of the Ministry of foreign affairs, Chinese ambassador to Poland, Chinese ambassador to Poland and Lithuania, and Chinese ambassador to India. He is now a member of the group of specially invited investigators of the Ministry of foreign affairs, a director of the China foundation for international studies, and a senior researcher of the peace and Development Research Center.
