After his return, he turned his eyes to the mainland of China and became the first cartoonist in Taiwan to develop in the mainland of China.

Personal experience

The most noteworthy event is Taiwan cartoonist Ao Youxiang's lamentation of the lost and recovered revolutionary history of Wu Long Yuan.

In 2001, in order to save enough tuition for his daughter to study in the UK, Ao Youxiang transferred 142 books and 130 Internet flash copyrights, including the old version of wulongyuan, which recorded the story of how the elder and younger martial brothers entered the wulongyuan, to Taiwan joy resources international company, with an appointment of 50 years after Ao Youxiang's death. However, after obtaining the copyright, the company didn't immediately launch the market for Mr. Ao's works, instead, it put them in the cold.

In October 2002, Ao Youxiang reached a cooperation agreement with manyou culture, the leading culture in mainland China, on works such as wulongyuan. After a series of new positioning, packaging and publicity planning, a number of books such as wulongyuan began to appear in the mainland in January 2003.

At this time, joy resources realized the great value of Ao Youxiang's works in the mainland market. Without Ao Youxiang's consent, they authorized a Shanghai Publishing Company to tamper with the original comic works, and changed the black-and-white versions of the old works "wulongyuan", "joy camp" and "wulongyuan animation" into color versions. What's more, he failed to provide the account books to him for three consecutive years.

Seeing 20 years of painstaking efforts being wasted, Ao Youxiang decided to defend his rights and interests with the law and sued happy resources in 2004. After more than a year of frequent evidence collection and repeated judicial proceedings between the mainland and Taiwan, the Taipei District Court formally ruled that Ao Youxiang won the lawsuit in September 2005, hoping to recover the copyright of 142 works.

Ao Youxiang, who took back the copyright, realized that "life will be more perfect from now on", and played a huge role in promoting his future creation, giving him more space in operation, which will lead to the second spring of his comic art. Ao Youxiang can be called the "big brother" in Taiwan's comic circle. At the age of 17, while working on cartoons from the United States and Japan, he was unconvinced to think: why doesn't Taiwan have its own creation? Opportunities are for those who are prepared. At that time, there was a copyright problem with "Snoopy" being serialized in Minsheng daily, and a Taiwanese cartoonist was needed to take over the column. At that time, because Taiwan's censorship system was extremely strict and few people drew cartoons, Ao Youxiang stood out and created Pipi. Then, in 1982, his work "Wu Long Yuan" hit the whole island of Taiwan, and was called the first professional cartoonist of the new generation in Taiwan by the media. However, it brings with it all kinds of burdens under the fame: endless "bad contracts" and endless drafts of human feelings. Drawing comics was originally a fun and interesting thing for AO Youxiang. But at this time, drawing comics is like paying off a debt. It's not interesting. In order to get rid of this dilemma, Ao Youxiang, who is very popular, quietly left and moved to Jingpu, Fengbin Township, Hualien (he once used cartoons to describe his life in Jingpu, Hualien).

Compared with the noisy city, Hualien is a paradise with pleasant landscape. Relieved the pressure from outside, Ao Youxiang regained the feeling of painting. In Taiwan, there are many similarities between the situation of comics and that of mainland China. For example, Japanese comics are rampant and local comics are weak. On the contrary, he is actively engaged in a variety of comic activities in order to inject vitality into Taiwan's comic business. In the past eight years, he has been immersed in the creation of comics. He has been drawing for more than seven or eight hours every day. In cooperation with the Times Publishing House, he has published a series of books such as "Chinese idiom story series" and "World Animal Series" with primary and secondary school students as readers. At the same time, Hualien became his base for planting and cultivating comics. He not only set up Ao Youxiang cartoon studio, but also took time out of his busy schedule to go to the children's talent center for counseling. In addition, he was invited to offer comic courses for Sky University and national Donghua University, hoping to "bring out a group of new comic fish". This summer, "big fish" and a group of "small fish" swim into the "Hualien cultural center" and hold a 13 day "red line cartoon creation exhibition". The cartoon works of teachers and students appeared together. Ao Youxiang said: Taking the "red line" is also because the comic culture is really boring in Taiwan.
