At that time, he wanted to be a soldier. As a result, one of his father's old subordinates took him to his father's urn and gave him a good lesson. Chen Zhijian had to finish high school. After graduating from high school, he majored in remote control and telemetry in the missile engineering department of the Military Engineering College of the Chinese people's Liberation Army.
After graduating from University, Chen Zhijian worked in Shenyang Military Region for five years and returned to the general staff for nine years. In 1983, because the Central Military Commission wanted to change the knowledge structure of military commanders, Chen Zhijian's life took a major turn. At that time, there were more than 200 technical cadres graduated from universities in the whole army, who were concentrated in two groups to study in Beijing Military Academy (the predecessor of National Defense University). One year later, Chen Zhijian was assigned to the field forces as division and regimental cadres. Character life
Chen family is a military family, four generations of martial arts. Chen Zhijian said that there is the influence of folk customs and family customs. Just as he now regards his father as a great hero, his great grandfather is also a great hero in his father's mind. Zeng's grandfather was named general Jianwei. He joined the army as a young man and made many achievements. He was a general of Zeng Guoquan's army in Hunan. He fought against the Japanese army in the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895.
Chen Geng's tradition of worshiping martial arts in his blood is closely related to his grandfather's second wife after his grandmother died. The legendary woman surnamed Xiong was good at riding and shooting since she was a child. When she was a teenager, she became a knight errant for heaven. Later, she became a female jockey under general Jianwei and finally married into the Chen family. Chen Zhijian once heard from his family's elders that the stepgrandmother was still in her seventies, leaping over the ridge, flying over the eaves and walls like walking on the ground. In his later years, his great grandfather returned to the army. He was tired of fighting all his life, so that his children and grandchildren could no longer join the army, but all of them became businessmen or officials. But his great grandmother still secretly taught young Chen Geng cold weapons and martial arts.
Chen Geng has five children. His elder brother, Chen Zhifei, is a senior engineer of the Aerospace Department. His younger sister, Professor Chen Zhijin, is the chief physician of the PLA General Hospital. His other three sons are generals. His third son, major general Chen Zhishu, is the commander of the Gansu Military Region. His fourth son, major general Chen Zhiya, is the Secretary General of the China International Strategic Foundation and a researcher of the foreign military research department of the Academy of Military Sciences.
Self evaluation
"My evaluation of myself is: soldiers among intellectuals, intellectuals among soldiers. My childhood was spent on the March. It was a time of getting together and getting away. After the army finished fighting Guangzhou, we went to Guangzhou. At the time of the founding ceremony, my father was still at war, carrying out the final liberation work in Yunnan. "
"In 1961, when my father was seriously ill, I was still in class in Beijing NO.4 middle school. When my secretary came, he took me to Shanghai by plane. After getting off the plane, everyone gave me a piece of black yarn. Only then did I know that all this was true. At that time, I was less than 15 years old. I usually admire fighting heroes most, such as my father, Chairman Mao and those who were wounded in the battle. In the process of working in Yunnan, I went to all my father's guards' homes that I could find, and visited those elders. "
