Hu Wanchun is a contemporary worker writer. His original name was Hu Agan. He is from Yinxian County, Zhejiang Province. He is a member of the Communist Party of China.

Early experience

After 1946, he served as apprentice, worker and vice chairman of trade union of Shanghai No.6 iron and steel works and No.2 iron and steel works, reporter of Shanghai labor daily, editorial board member of bud, and professional writer of Shanghai Branch of China Writers Association. His works began to be published in 1952. Born in 1929 in a poor worker's family in Shanghai. He was a child laborer when he was 13 and a worker in Shanghai Iron and steel works when he was 17. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he successively served as a member and vice chairman of the factory trade union, Minister of Party propaganda, deputy to the third and fourth Shanghai People's Congress, and director of China Writers Association and Shanghai Branch of Writers Association.
