On October 2, 2008, Chen Huilin and her boyfriend of 16 years, Alex, finally ended their long-distance love and married.

In February 2009, Chen Huilin announced her pregnancy information in a high profile, saying that she had been pregnant for three months. In March, it was announced that the fetus was a boy. On the morning of July 10, Chen Huilin gave birth to a son, weighing about 6 Jin, named Liu Sheng.
