Han Meilin was born in Jinan, Shandong Province, China in 1936. He was admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1955 (he became the first student of the Central Academy of Arts and crafts in 1956). At present, he is a senior professor of liberal arts at Tsinghua University. He is also a member of the Central Library of cultural and historical studies, honorary director of Ceramic Art Committee of China Artists Association, vice president of World Chinese Association and honorary president of China Arts and Crafts Association.

Introduction to art

In 1980, he held a "roving exhibition of individual works" in 21 cities in the United States, and won the "golden key" from San Diego City of the United States. Manhattan district of New York designated October 1 of that year as "Han Meilin day"; he created the cartoon "Fox Hunter", and won the "Best Art Award" of the fourth Zagreb International Animation Film Festival in Yugoslavia. In 1983, six works of Han Meilin were selected as Christmas cards issued by the United Nations. In 2003, he won the "world art Contribution Award" from the World Artists Association (USA). In 2004, he was awarded the "world Master of Art Award" by the World Artists Association (USA) and the "presidential Education Award" by former US President Bush. In 2011, he was named "the most concerned Chinese figure in the world" by the global times; he was awarded the "lifelong achievement award of Chinese art and Culture Award" by the Ministry of culture of the people's Republic of China; and he held the "Han Meilin Art Exhibition" in the National Museum of China, which was unprecedented. In 2012, "mother and son" sculpture series won the "copyright Gold Award" of the world intellectual property organization. On December 21, 2013, the first "Han Meilin day" was set up in China. In 2015, he won the title of "artist for peace" of UNESCO and became the first person in Chinese art circles to receive this award. In 2016, the "world of Merrill Lynch - Korea Merrill Lynch Global Tour" was launched. With the purpose of "paying homage to the Renaissance, returning to the roots of the nation, and performing cultural responsibilities", it has successively held individual exhibitions in Venice, Italy, Beijing, China, Paris, France, verduze, Lichtenstein, Seoul, South Korea, and was awarded the title of "honorary academician" by the University of Venice.
