Character evaluation
In European or western music, music is rarely heard as a natural sound. Tan Dun's music is the natural sound that we have never heard of for a long time. When the East and the West will be united and become a common home, Tan Dun's music is just what we need (John Cage review). Tan Dun's personality and musical depth have left footprints in the history of music. His music has a sense of history and traditional Chinese spirit. His musical imagination is admirable. I heard the voice of the human soul in his music. Tan Dun is a musician who always thinks about the spirit of the times. His talent and efforts enable all living beings to close their eyes and listen attentively to all the voices expressed by him (Xinhua Online Review).
