Social evaluation
Dong Jian, Professor of Nanjing University: the death of Gao Hua makes me sad. The sadness is deep in my heart, like lead and ice, heavy and cold. In fact, in recent years, I am old and hard hearted. In addition, I am suffering from eye diseases and it is difficult to read. I seem to be half dead. My nostalgia for "life" has been greatly indifferent, and I am numb to the sadness of "death". Therefore, I am indifferent to the death of my relatives and friends. But this time, Gao Hua was killed by the evil disease, but I can't restrain a great grief, because we need him too much - just for the Chinese universities, which are transforming into officialdom and shopping malls, how we need scholars with independent thinking and free spirit like Gao Hua to summon the souls of the lost universities!
Zhang Ming, Professor of the Department of politics at Renmin University of China, paid tribute to Mr. Gao Hua: "Gao Hua is the most serious, rigorous and knowledgeable historian I have ever met. He is my good teacher and friend. It's painful to die young! When Gao Hua left, a Chinese scholar with conscience and a scholar who insisted on academic integrity left us. Gao Hua's achievements can not be overestimated. But his conduct is more admirable. When I associate with him, I feel that he has a lot to write and a lot to write. He is a rare good teacher. During his serious illness, he is still revising the students' papers in his bed. Everyone who has heard his lessons will never forget him. Gao Hua is very poor. In fact, he is rich all over the world.
Xu Jilin, Professor of History Department of East China Normal University: This is the saddest news at the end of the year. Brother Gao Hua is a contemporary scholar who has the deepest insight into the politics of the Communist Party of China. Every time he talks about the history of the Communist Party of China, he enjoys intellectually. After his illness, he was so strong and optimistic that everyone was deeply infected. At the last moment of his life, he is still thinking and struggling to write. No one deserves the honor of historian and thinker more than him.
Yang Tianshi, Professor of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said: "I remember that his articles at that time were full of style, and his speech also appeared to be" eloquent ", which impressed me deeply."
Liu Yu, associate professor of Tsinghua University: "Mr. Gao Hua is a" walking dictionary "of the history of the Communist Party of China and the Soviet Union. It's a pity that he died."
Yang Kui song, a distinguished professor in the History Department of East China Normal University, said that Gao Hua was "the vanguard of Mao Zedong research". "Mr. Gao Hua is definitely a leader in the study of party history in modern historiography. In the field of modern history study, there is also the study of the history of the people's Republic of China. In both aspects, Gao Hua leads the way. Gao Hua's research has a strong personality and a strong concern for reality. Gao Hua's research shows a scholar's honesty, integrity and independent thinking.
Yang Jinlin, executive director of Hong Kong Satellite TV, said: "I have a lot of affinity with Gao Hua. I once went to his home in Nanjing to interview Gao Hua. I have a scholar of my own who has lost his life for learning. Gao Hua disdains to be associated with flatterers, and his style is respected.
Wang Qisheng, Professor of History Department of Peking University: "in 2003, we spent about a month together in the Institute of history and Philology of Academia Sinica in Taiwan. Mr. Gao Hua is a very pure scholar. He is a modest gentleman in his life, not as sharp as he is in his academic works and articles. Since that meeting, we have been exchanging phone calls and mails. It's hard for me to accept Gao Hua's sudden death. According to Mao Haijian, historical research started at the age of 40 and started at 50 or 60
