die for one's country
On January 13, 1939, the enemy concentrated its superior forces and launched a fierce attack on the front line of our army in Longshan City, Jingyuan County, in an attempt to annihilate the main force of our anti Japanese army and continue to march north and West.
General Lin Yingcan led the main force of the 152nd division to hold the position and fight fiercely with the enemy. The enemy has the superiority in weaponry and firepower, and they attack our army with the air plane bombing and heavy artillery bombardment. General Lin Yingcan and his soldiers braved the enemy's bombardment and artillery fire and fought back the enemy's attacks again and again by using the solid formula on the ground. The front of the position was covered with the enemy's corpses. However, after fierce fighting, our soldiers also suffered heavy casualties. Our army's ground fortifications have also been damaged by the enemy's repeated attacks and bombing. In the battle, general Lin Yingcan personally went to the front line to command the troops, educated the officers and soldiers with the revolutionary spirit of winning the Anti Japanese War and vowing to save the country, and encouraged them to fight bravely, kill the enemy, serve the country, and survive with the positions. When the officers and men on the front line saw that the officer was so brave and in high morale, they could calmly respond to the enemy's crazy attacks and would rather die than retreat to beat back the enemy's attacks.
After that, the enemy who failed to attack for many times became angry. They again concentrated their superior forces and weapons, bombarded our army with artillery fire, and took advantage of the situation to launch a dense group charge. The two sides launched a fierce battle. For a moment, the killing was loud and the battlefield was bloody. General Lin Yingcan personally led the brave team to fight back and forth on the battlefield. Because our soldiers fought bravely and the enemy could not support them, they retreated. At this time, the enemy planes and artillery bombarded our army again. General Lin Yingcan saw this and immediately organized his troops to enter the fortification shelter. However, when he organized his troops to enter the fortification, he was unfortunately hit by shrapnel and died in his battle position. He was 41 years old.
