Xue Huai
Xue Huai (1717-1804) was a famous calligrapher and painter in Qing Dynasty. Xiaofeng, Zhujun, Zhuju old man. Taoyuan (now Siyang County, Jiangsu Province) Jiansheng, living in Shanyang (now Huai'an District, Huai'an City). Nephew of Bian Shoumin. Gongshu, painting, flower sketches, Qingyuan absolutely vulgar. Painting with hook, and then with dry pen stain, yin and yang to the back, very clear. He is good at painting Yixing tea vessels. Xue Huai's painting level is very high, and he has a high position in the history of painting. His dry ink sketch is elegant and unique. He was the first person to paint Yixing tea ware, which promoted the transformation of Yixing tea ware into elegant art. According to the calligraphy and painting handed down from generation to generation, the Yixing tea utensils painted by Xue Si are all opposite to Yin and Yang. They are very broad and open, very similar to modern sketch paintings, and are deeply loved by people. The album of Luyan by Xue Huai is a paper version, which is now collected by Tiandu building in Jinling.
