Xu Dayuan
Xu Dayuan (1767-1846), male, from Lili Town, Wujiang, Suzhou, was a scholar in Qing Dynasty.
Xu Dayuan was born in 1767, the 32nd year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, and died in 1846, the 26th year of Daoguang reign. His wife is Wu qiongxian, a poetess. Xu Dayuan was open-minded and indifferent. After a year in the Imperial Academy, he returned to Li and wrote in private. He became intimate with Hong Liangji and FA Shishan. He is good at painting in his poems and essays. His paintings are old and sparse, and his landscapes are small and have a unique style. In 1785, Yuan Mei, an old man in the garden, came to stay with the Xu family for three days. Xu Dayuan is the author of Li Li Zhen Zhi, Wu Jun Fu Li biography, Jian Shang Cao Tang Ji Lue and so on. The Shuyun building in Lili Town, where Xu and his wife live, is a cultural relic protection unit at the county level.
