In the strong feudal ethical atmosphere of the Qing Dynasty, it is impossible for women to show their curves as modern. In the Qing Dynasty, the cutting system of flag dress always adopted straight line, and the chest, shoulder, waist and buttocks were completely straight, so that the curve of female body was not exposed. Although some people think that the Qipao is changed from Manchu women's, it is not. Flag dress is the national costume of Manchu nationality. Most of the flag dresses are straight lines, the body is loose, the hem is not slit, the bust and waist circumference is close to the size of the dress; there are a lot of roll decoration on the cuff and collar. Yellow is the exclusive color of the royal family, and the people are not allowed to use it. Flag color is bright and complex, materials and other varieties of flowers and colors, like to use high contrast color collocation. In the neckline, sleeves and tuck in placket, add a few bright lace or colored tooth roll design. Flag dress is a kind of plane dress. The only design space of flag dress is the only design space except for fabric. Therefore, it is beautiful to have multiple rolls. At the end of Qing Dynasty, "Eighteen inlays" (i.e. inlaying with 18 laces) became popular. In the Qing Dynasty, most of the patterns of flag dress were sketched from life. The themes of dragon, lion, Phoenix, crane, bird, plum, orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum, Babao, Baxian, Fulu Shouxi and so on were commonly used themes.
