Qingdao Polar Ocean World

Qingdao Polar Marine World is located at 60 Donghai East Road, Laoshan District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. It is a large marine world complex integrating leisure, entertainment, shopping and culture. It was completed in July 2006. The first phase of the core project is the Polar Marine Animal Exhibition and Exhibition Hall, Marine Exposition and Popular Science Exhibition Hall, which is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Development and construction

The contract between Qingdao Laoshan People's Government and Qingdao Polar Ocean World Co., Ltd. for the construction of "Qingdao Polar Ocean World" project was signed in Qingdao a few days ago. Investors are Sirik Petroleum (Singapore) Ltd. The construction period is three years, and it is planned to be completed in October 2006. The first phase of the core project, the Polar Marine Animal Exhibition and Performance Hall, the Marine Exposition and the Popular Science Exhibition Hall, is expected to start construction in the third quarter of this year and be completed and put into operation in May 2005. It is reported that the project will be built into the world's largest polar marine zoo.

Qingdao Polar Ocean World is a comprehensive marine theme park invested by Haichang Group in Qingdao, which includes marine animal exhibition, polar animal exhibition, marine polar animal performance, marine science and technology museum, fisherman's wharf and so on. The whole project covers an area of 140,000 square meters, including: Marine Polar Museum, Marine Science and Technology Museum, Marine Entertainment Avenue, Fisherman's Wharf and other projects.

Qingdao Polar Ocean World Co., Ltd. is a Sino-foreign cooperative enterprise. Its main investor is Dalian Haichang Group Co., Ltd. which is an internationalized group company with oil trade and marine oil transportation as its main industry, real estate and tourism industry as its supplement, IT industry, culture and education industry, catering and entertainment industry.

Qingdao Polar Ocean World Project is a large-scale comprehensive service facility integrating leisure, entertainment and culture. From sculpture garden in the east to ocean Entertainment City in the west. In addition to the existing dolphin performance hall, the largest marine polar hall, marine science and technology museum, marine entertainment avenue, fisherman's wharf and other projects will be built.

Qingdao Polar Ocean World is located at 73 Donghai East Road, Qingdao, south of Shilao Sand Beach, a famous tourist resort (from Sculpture Park in the east to marine Entertainment City in the west). The Polar Investigation Office of the State Oceanic Administration awarded Qingdao Polar Ocean World the honorary title of "Polar Science Popular Education Base" and presented precious Antarctic stones for exhibition in venues.

On August 20, 2007, Qingdao Polar Ocean World was rated as a national 4A-level tourist attraction by the National Committee for Quality Grading of Tourist Scenic Spots.

Traffic information

Buses on 11, 102, 317, 504 and Metropolitan Sightseeing Line 1 get off at the Polar Ocean World Station (formerly Dolphin House Station). Route 225 and 403 Haiyou Road Station is 100 meters ahead. Take buses 104, 110, 125, 301, 304, 311, 321, 382, 501 and 632 to get off at Wangjiamai Island Station (Qingdao Polar Ocean World can be seen from coastal Jianglu south to Donghai Road).

Take Metro Line M2 and get off at Haiyou Road Station.

Self-driving travelling

Qingyin Expressway exits to Haier Road to East China Sea Road, or drives into the city, travels eastward through Shandong Road and Hong Kong Middle Road to East China Sea Road.
