Make great efforts, and the years will be golden. Southwest University for Nationalities is located in Chengdu, a famous historical and cultural city with the reputation of "the kingdom of heaven". It is a pearl embedded in the southwestern part of the motherland for higher education for nationalities. The school is a comprehensive national university directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. Its predecessor is Southwest College for Nationalities. It was founded in July 1950, formally established on June 1, 1951, and renamed Southwest University for Nationalities in April 2003. In 2005, the State People's Committee and Chengdu Municipality will be jointly built; in 2015, the State People's Committee will be jointly built with the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the Ministry of Education; and in 2016, the People's Government of Sichuan Province will sign a strategic cooperation agreement with schools. Southwest University for Nationalities is one of the earliest ethnic universities established in New China under the personal care of Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping, Wang Weizhou and other older generations of proletarian revolutionaries. The school has inherited the fine school-running tradition of Yan'an College of Nationalities, which was born in the flames of anti-Japanese war. It is nourished in the dawn of the rising of the Republic. During the period of reform and opening-up, the Phoenix Nirvana is now vigorously striving for a new journey in the new era. In 2003, the first round of undergraduate teaching evaluation by the Ministry of Education was excellent; in 2017, it won the title of the first "National Civilized Campus" and the fifth batch of "National Unity and Progress to Establish Demonstration Schools".

Fireworks are handed down from generation to generation, relay and struggle. Schools always adhere to the purpose of "serving ethnic minorities and ethnic areas, serving the national development strategy", developing in exploration and advancing in pursuit. After several generations of people's adults, they are determined to make progress. At present, the school covers 12 disciplines, including literature, history, philosophy, economics, management, law, education, science, industry, agriculture, medicine and art. It covers an area of nearly 3000 mu. There are three campuses in Chengdu, namely, Wuhou Campus, Airport Campus and Taiping Garden Campus. They are in Honghong, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. The original county has the "Southwest University for Nationalities Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Ecology Protection and Animal Husbandry High-tech Research and Demonstration Base", with a building area of 1120,000 square meters. It has a distinctive national museum and the largest Tibetan and Yi literature museums in the world. There are more than 30,000 full-time students from 56 nationalities and nearly 3,000 faculty members, including nearly 500 doctoral and master tutors. The school has brought together a number of outstanding teachers who love their jobs, devote themselves to their work and conduct their studies rigorously. Fifty-two of them are experts who enjoy special allowances from the Government of the State Council. Two are leaders of philosophy and Social Sciences in the National "Ten Thousand People Plan" and cultural experts and "four batches of" talents in the Ministry of Publicity and Propaganda. Two are top young talents in the National "Ten Thousand People Plan". Four people were selected into the Tianfu Ten Thousand Plan, 37 were the academic and technological leaders of Sichuan Province, 26 were the outstanding experts of Sichuan Province, 9 were the outstanding experts of the National People's Committee, 13 were the military leaders of the National People's Committee, 2 were the innovative and young leaders of the "Thousand People Plan" of Sichuan Province, and 8 were the education leaders. The Ministry's New Century Outstanding Talents Support Program includes 17 young and middle-aged talents of the National People's Committee, 83 backup candidates for academic and technological leaders of Sichuan Province, 3 teaching teachers of Sichuan Province, 2 teaching teachers of the First National People's Committee, 1 teaching model soldier of the first youth of the National People's Committee, and 35 teaching teachers of schools.

Make every effort to govern and go far. The school has 24 colleges; 1 post-doctoral mobile station, 3 first-level disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 24 first-level disciplines authorized by master degree, 13 professional degree authorized points and 85 undergraduate disciplines; 5 first-level disciplines are key disciplines at the provincial (ministerial) level; 13 disciplines have been approved as provincial and above "Excellent Talents Education Training Plan". Among them, four specialties were selected into the national "Excellent Talents Education and Training Plan". Six National Undergraduate specialties, 10 provincial undergraduate specialties, 19 dual-degree specialties, five provincial undergraduate talent training bases, two provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, one provincial virtual simulation experimental teaching center and 11 provinces (ministries) Grade I Key Laboratory, 1 Provincial Engineering Technology Center. At present, there are more than 980 million books and materials (including electronic documents) in the library. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 517.6 billion yuan. The construction of digital campus has achieved remarkable results. The school is the national "excellent legal talent training base", "national college ethnic preparatory education base", "national college practical education innovation and entrepreneurship base", "university students'off-campus practical education base under the central ministry", "national people's Committee bilingual talent training base", "top 50 universities with typical employment experience of graduates" and "all-round". China's top 50 universities with typical experience in innovation and entrepreneurship have been awarded "Advanced Collective of Graduates'Employment Work in Sichuan Province" for seven consecutive times.

Found brand, highlight characteristics. Since 2000, the school has undertaken more than 400 national-level scientific research projects, including 19 major projects of the National Social Science Fund, 12 major projects of the National Science and Technology Plan, 25 projects of the National Arts Fund, more than 1400 scientific research projects at the provincial and ministerial levels, more than 22,000 academic papers, more than 1200 academic works, and provincial and ministerial scientific research projects. More than 450 achievements awards and 1 National Science and technology progress award. Especially in the fields of animal husbandry and veterinary theory and technology, national economy, national tourism, national culture and information processing of minority languages and characters, the research results have exerted great influence in the academic circles at home and abroad. The school has two provincial (ministry) level collaborative innovation centers in 2011, 12 provincial (ministry) level humanities and Social Sciences Key Research bases, a provincial new research think tank and academician workstation; the National Committee for the Standardization of Yi Terminology, the National Committee for the Compilation and Accreditation of Yi-Chinese Bilingual Textbooks in Colleges and Universities are affiliated to the school; and Sichuan Province is also affiliated to the school. The National Education Development Research Center has been established in schools; the National People's Committee, the Ministry of Culture, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Sichuan Province and the Chinese Productivity Society have successively established the National People's Committee's Training and Scientific Research Base for Minority Ancient Books, the Southwest Research Center of the National Folk Literature and Art Development Center of the Ministry of Culture and China. Southwest National Language Resource Base, National Bilingual Official Training Base, Sichuan Cadre Education and Training College Base, Sichuan Non-material Cultural Heritage Research Base and China Productivity Science Research Institute, etc. The academic journals published mainly include Journal of Southwest University for Nationalities and Journal of Ethnology. Journal of Southwest University for Nationalities (Humanities and Social Sciences Edition) has been selected as CSSCI source journal and Chinese Core Journal of Peking University for many years. It has been awarded the authoritative journal of "Ethnology and Culture" by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Journal of Ethnology has been selected as CSSCI source journal and Chinese Core Journal of Peking University.

Open school-running and multi-integration. The school is the key unit of opening up in Sichuan Province. In recent years, 21 prefectures and counties, including Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan, Qinghai, Tibet, Chongqing and other seven provinces and municipalities, have established school-site strategic cooperative relations, established production-university-research cooperative relations with a number of enterprises, institutions and scientific research institutions, actively participated in the struggle against poverty in the Wulingshan area, and helped Hongyuan County, Aba Prefecture, and other provinces and municipalities. Zoige County and Yanyuan County of Liangshan Prefecture have won advanced units in poverty alleviation work in Sichuan Province. To promote international exchange and cooperation in education, experts, scholars and government officials from more than 70 countries and regions have come to the University for academic exchanges; and with the University of Munich, Columbia, the University of California, Riverside, the University of California, San Diego, Missouri State University, Texas Institute of Technology, Virgie. More than 60 foreign universities and research institutes, such as Niya University, Japan University of Law and Politics, Australian National University and Taiwan Furen University, have established inter-university cooperation and exchange relations. Nearly 1000 students have been selected to study abroad, and more than 6800 students from more than 70 countries have been recruited. The school fosters and promotes the socialist core values, solidly promotes the education of national unity, promotes the exchanges and exchanges between teachers and students of 56 nationalities, the multicultural exchanges among different nationalities are blooming and shining, and the teachers and students of all nationalities are sympathetic and helpful, thus creating a humanistic environment of unity, friendship, harmonious coexistence and common progress. The school insists on carrying out various, healthy and elegant campus cultural activities with educators and moral educators. Many achievements of campus cultural construction have been awarded the first prize and the first prize for excellent achievements of campus cultural construction in Colleges and universities in Sichuan Province and China. Spring and autumn fruits, peach and plum fragrance. Since the founding of the school, a batch of students of all nationalities have stepped into the society from the school to make achievements. Among the 210,000 graduates of all nationalities and types, the first Tibetan doctor and Qiang doctor emerged in New China, the first batch of Tibetan generals trained by New China itself, and the "reform pioneers" - excellent representatives of discipline inspection and supervision cadres in the Party under strict control in an all-round way, and many well-known experts, scholars and large numbers of people at all levels at home and abroad emerged.
