Neijiang Normal University is a full-time general undergraduate college organized by Sichuan Provincial People's Government. Neijiang City, where the school is located, is located in the middle of Chengdu and Chongqing. It is an important transportation hub and logistics center in Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan and Guizhou. The scenery here is picturesque and full of humanities. It is known as "the hometown of thousands of paintings and calligraphy".

The school held higher education in 1956 and was upgraded to the college in 2000.
