Yan Hua
Yan Hua, born in 1912, died in 1992. He is a composer and actor.
His works mainly include Taohuajiang, Dong Xiaowan, Meng Jiangnu, Li Sanniang and the romance of the Western chamber.
Personal experience
It was active in Shanghai from 1930s to 1940s. The main works include the soundtrack and interlude of Meng Jiangnv, Li Sanniang, Sanxiao, Dong Xiaowan, romance of the west chamber and qichongtian.
His parents died early, and his sister Yan Fei was an actor of the famous "Moon Song and Dance Troupe". After Yan Hua was admitted to the song and dance troupe, he made rapid progress in performing arts, had a good Mandarin and a strong sense of music. He also learned to compose music and play the piano. He was able to play and sing by himself and became the "male pillar" of the troupe. Because of singing "Peach Blossom River" with Zhou Xuan, it made a sensation and was known as "Prince of peach blossom".
He was the husband of movie star Zhou Xuan. They got married in 1938 and divorced in 1941. After his divorce from Zhou Xuan, he bid farewell to the singing world, gave up art and went into business, and served as the manager of China's needle factory. Later, she married pan fengjuan.
After 1949, he served as the Shanghai Branch of China record company and died in Shanghai on January 11, 1992.
The episode of the movie "Romance of the West Chamber" has become a classic of Chinese songs, which has been covered by generations of singers such as Zhang Qi, Xi Xiulan, Deng Lijun, Fei Yuqing, Xie Caixuan, Yi Nengjing and Tong Li.
